Publisher's summary

James Nightsky knows his wolf pack are in trouble. Big trouble.

Their numbers are dwindling, and the future is looking bleak. As he is alpha, it is his responsibility to ensure not only the safety of the pack but also their security for the future. This includes finding a mate and raising a healthy cub.

James hates doing it, but he knows he has no choice.

He writes a letter to his old alpha, asking for help. He hopes his old alpha might be able to spare some numbers from his own thriving pack.

Luckily he is right.

James cannot believe it when he lays his eyes on Chastity Fayre. To him, she is beautiful and just the type of mate he is looking for. But how will Chastity cope with being The Alpha's Mail Order Mate? And was she really sent to him as a goodwill gift, or is there more to this than meets the eye?

Story Suffers from the Performer's Difficulties

What disappointed you about The Alpha's Mail Order Mate?

I think have no idea whether the story was any good or not. The point of any story is to try to suspend disbelief and enjoy the story that unfolds. The person reading The Alpha's Mail Order Mate was terrible. I could not stand to listen to the end of the first chapter. I don't understand why the story was released in this condition. I think this is one book it is better to read than to listen to this performer.

What didn’t you like about Jigisha Patel’s performance?

The performance was very poor, certainly not up to the standard one comes to expect from an Audible performers. The rhythm of the reading was totally off. I would give this performer a minus 10 for this effort. This is one I would be happy to get my money back and find time to read the story myself.

Odd performance

Unfortunately, the performer’s phrasing and intonations were unnatural and distracting, so much so that i lost interest in following the story.

Not my narrative style

The story was pretty good and kept moving along but I really struggled with the narrative. It felt stilted and like there wasn’t a natural flow to her words. It took awhile to get through the book because of it.

Narrator's performance severely disappointing

I purchased this story in spite of the bad reviews regarding the narrator, thinking it can't possibly be all that bad. To be honest, it was worse. I stuck with listening through to the end of the story because I wanted to know the ending...even though as I listened I wanted to fast forward past the parts where the narrator chose to speak in a very, very slow, long and drawn out voice for several of the characters. I guess she didn't know how to alter her tonal frequency and had to resort to making her narration sound as if the characters didn't know how to talk or form words to make a sentence. She read each word with a very long pause between each word. No one talks that way unless perhaps they've suffered some sort of brain injury and had to search their brain to find the words needed to express themselves...of which the story line did not suggest that that had happened.

One thing for sure, I know I won't buy any other audible books or CDS where this lady is the narrator!! So other potential buyers, please take heed and believe everyone's negative review about this as as truly true.

Please save your money and just buy the BOOK to read... Listening to it will drive you crazy!!

Worst book ever!!!!

This was the worst book I have read in a very long time. I actually borrowed it for free, but bought the narration for $1.99 and I feel like I was robbed. I'm truly not sure if the book is any good because the narration was horrendous!!! Do the authors get to pick the narrator? Just terrible!!! The first few chapters of the book, which was all I could tolerate, was disjointed, predictable and just ridiculous. Blah!

Mail order mate

This is a good book and I enjoyed it , I have listen on audible and has read it. Each time I find it enjoyable and intriguing . I liked each and everyone of the characters and how they interacted with each other. I am glad Katie Dawson got her comeuppance.

Alpha's Mail Order Mate - Not even close.

What disappointed you about The Alpha's Mail Order Mate?

For one- at what point did the Alpha ask for a bride?! I don't get the whole "mail order" thing at ALL.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Nothing by this author and ESPECIALLY not the narrator.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jigisha Patel’s performances?

NO.. absolutely not. I didn't even finish this one. It was painful to listen to her. I never could figure out WHY she was being so ridiculous about some parts and not on others. Was it when she was "acting?" it was a stutter stop method that hurt to listen to.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Alpha's Mail Order Mate?

So far - (I still have an hour to go but I had to stop listening because I was cursing the narrator) - none of it made sense. Why were they making treehouses? What's the point? and if they were going to open it up to everyone anyway, why not just DO that and not worry about being found out; Also, right.. a virgin would willingly just go willy-nilly into the woods with a bunch of guys and then "voila!" the head guy says spread em and she does?! Seriously? Beyond believeable and ridiculous.

Dont understand the Mail order part??

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

The book was good the story was nice just didn't get the mail order part. the Narrator was terrible. I believe if someone else was telling it, it could be better.

What could Jade White have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Get a different narrator.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Everything. Narrator was the worse part!

Relax and Enjoy!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Alpha's Mail Order Mate to be better than the print version?

When you are tired, and need new glasses unable to consecrate on the written word, the audio version is great. You can relax and not read the same line over and over or lose your place. I enjoy the occasional audio book, of not having to hold a control in my hand, or skip over pages or trying to find my way back when I want to check something. It enables one to enjoy a story without losing track. Great when tired or great when traveling and you want a bit of company! And, the reminder of the favorite memories of having my grandmother read to me when I visited her. She used to change her voice for each of the characters too!Terrific narrator, Jigisha Patel!

What did you like best about this story?

The flow of the story, covering the generations of the pack. The main characters, Julian, Chastity; Knight, Boris, Mr. Stest, Rick and the children: Hope, Julie, Little John and his brother, it just all flowed together in a loving and real way. I especially liked the concept of the conservation of nature and the tree-houses. Just a great all-round story..

What about Jigisha Patel’s performance did you like?

Was terrific, the portrayal of the characters, change in voice for each, keeping the characters of each one an individuality was just great. Her voice just flowed throughout the story in complete control throughout.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not one, but did it in a little over two!

Any additional comments?

This is more than I USUALLY DO! But wanted to give it a try since I enjoyed it so much.
