About this listen

The choices you make define the person you become.

A man wakes up alone in the rain and with no memory of who he is. He soon falls prey to a hungry goblin tribe.

After escaping with his life thanks to the help of a beautifully powerful orc huntress, the pair find themselves on the wrong side of the law when the man releases a magical explosion nearly killing a dozen bar patrons.

With no options available to them, the pair turns to a graceful vulpine alchemist and former lover of the orc huntress to unravel the mystery of the man’s powers and existence. They will need their wits and each other to overcome a perilous journey of murderous bandits, corrupted queens, and unknown horrors spawning from magical portals.

This book contains harem elements and explicit content.

Not your normal fantasy harem story

Unlike many harem fantasy novels this one has serious erotic tendencies. The hero is clueless and his female companions are willing, but are having their own problems. it is fun and amusing as the author's character development is slow and in a way refreshing as it doesn't require massive amounts of falling into bed.

Phenomenal Narrator with Pretty Good Story.

Who is this Narrator? She gets a 10/10 for the performance she gave in this story. She was able to voice multiple characters and gave each one their own unique voice that a listener could separate the different characters from one another. I thought her performance was excellent and she should do this for more novels.

The story was intriguing and entertaining. A man who doesn't know who he is, where he is, or how he got here, finds himself discovering that there is more to him than meets the eye, that's he's potentially destined for some greatness, that may save a kingdom, and maybe one day, the world. With two companions, formerly bond by love, he learns to lean on both as friends, companions, and for one of them, as something more, in his journey to discover who, and what, he is.

There were some sex scenes in the first Act I felt were unnecessary, but I won't spoil anything. It's certainly a book for adults, so only mature audiences should listen. I enjoyed the story.

An interesting adventure with a great narrator

The major critique I’ve seen in the reviews is that this story is that it feels like a series of somewhat disconnected adventures. While that might be a fair critique I don’t think it’s bad here.

The structure of this story once the foundation is set is “The heroes are traveling, they get involved in some trouble and have to deal with a very big adventure in order to keep going.” While it can be somewhat awkward with the connecting threads, the structure of the adventure is there and it’s fun to see the travels and the strange world being created.

another favorite series in the making!

Great story and narration!

Waking up in the middle of the forest with no memories, our MC goes looking for help and stumbles into a goblin camp. He quickly finds himself trust up and about to go into the dinner pot, before a beautiful rescuer comes to his aid. He will have to learn fast and quickly adapt to survive in this difficult and magical world.

Rebecca does a wonderful job with the narration!

This book was fantastic from beginning to end!

I can't wait to find out what happens next!

warning: this is the first book in a harem series.

Fun book to listen to.

This is a fun book to listen to. the overall story is good, not great but good. my only real complaint is the author consistently uses idioms that don't make sense for the world he is building. An example of this is one of the characters has a line of "you will be running on all cylinders and then some." if course we get the expression but in a fantasy setting where there is magic and cart drawn wagons, I don't believe engineering has developed enough to make internal combustion engines.

really loved the world created by the author, the different races and cast systems were brilliantly put together and rebecca woods killed it as usual.

Enjoyable start to a new series.

If you are into the genre you'll like the book. Nothing earth shattering but good writing, flow, character building. Needs some details filled in for the world and major arc building but it's nothing that leaves you feeling lost.

Definitely worth the shout out to Rebecca Woods. This is the first book I've listened to that she carried all on her own. She absolutely has the chops to handle a book all on her own with a good range of tones, accents, etc. I really hope she gets more opportunities like this going forward!

No Memories? No Worries!

The book likes to lead you on this wonderful chase watching the MC have no real understanding of how the real world works. He has recently lost all of his memories and because of this doesn't have the experience people cultivate throught out a life time and instead is an idiot. He grows quickly however and will become a man that will be respected and loved by all.
