Get past the attempt at dialect and it’s an entertaining and enjoyable book

As another reviewer says, the use of strange grammar as a dialect was irritating. That’s especially true when the main character ‘s internal voice is quite lyrical. I cringed through the early dialogue, but stuck it out. Glad I did. Unique fantastical world and characters I need to learn more of. The ending is sadly a lead in to the next book, but I’m happy I can but it and keep listening. Narration is flawless.
One star less than perfect for the dialect grammar.

enjoyable pirates and magic

The author created an interesting new world. I'm looking forward to the next book to find out how the story continues.

A magical journey that you don't want to get off!

This book was very thrilling and heart pounding! I really liked it! The reason for a four star review is the mass use of cursing, which is a personal dislike, not necessarily an overall downfall. My preference with curing is minimal or close to none. Another issue in had with it was Annanna's whiny character, but then she was a spoiled pirate princess and a teenager. Anyways, or adored this book nonetheless!

An okay read

The storyline is quite interesting enough. I got a bit miffed with Annana's character though - there's something annoying about a character that persistently asks stupid questions and does really stupid things, runs around screaming when something happens and acts like a petulant child.
She does redeem herself with bravery and the occasional bout of intelligence though....all in all, an okay story and a very good performance.
couldn't make up my mind whether it should have been a teen story or a young adults novel though........

A good start

A good start to a YA series. The characters are enjoyable and the plot unfolds well with sufficient world building to be intriguing. A self contained start would have been better but still made for a great yarn. Listening to the audiobook made the dialogue very believable. I know some of the reviews say that the mark twain Huckleberry Finn asked stylings are distracting, but this was not at all the case in the audio version.

A flare of Arabian Night... The modern way.

Where does The Assassin's Curse rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I found this book enjoyable. Indeed you may wont to be some what of a younger listener or like the saga approach to books.
I did found it well written and narrated and a time pleaser (the books I listens to are mostly to keep my mind at a pace whilst I illustrate other books).

I enjoyed this audiobook. but, I do not enjoy finding out that to find out how the adventure ends you need to read two more books.
