About this listen

She’s 43 years old…

…and starting over from scratch.

How did this happen? She had it all together. A stable marriage of two decades. Two grown daughters. And now she and her husband, empty nesters, were moving to a beach house. Until he showed up late one night and tore their marriage apart. A secret life. A different woman. Another family. Left alone, she has to begin again. And then her estranged sister and mother get thrown into the mix. When she buys a house on a small South Carolina island, will she learn what life is really about? Or will she find out that some relationships can never be mended?

The jerk of an ex husband.

Very enjoyable I highly recommend it for a summer beach read. Seriously. Buy it. Worth your time.

Quirky and Corny

I did the Audible version of this book and the narrator was bad. Her voice was like nails on a chalkboard to me. The storyline was quick and didn’t give you a lot of time to get to know the characters. I finished the book because it was short and I paid for it but I wouldn’t read again.

Great book!

I loved the story. The voices telling the story were great! I can’t wait to start book two.

Motivational

I liked how she moved on to do what she wanted and find herself. Then in the end stuck to it as well.

A very enjoyable quick read

I read this in two sittings.
First because I was captured by the story and second because I lost all track of time enjoying the read so much. And I love Shrimp and grits!

Book may be great but narrator is terrible!

I wanted to like this book but I can’t listen to it so wasted a credit on it of my subscription. Will read the book on my own but like to have some to listen to while working and this one I had to turn off.

wonderful read

Story plot and great ending. The southern accents were pretty on spot. Happy Julie found a new life without scumbag Michael.

Slow Story

Unfortunately, a few mispronounced words caught my attention. Dawson’s character was easy to love & Julie’s character took too long to make a relationship get started.

Light easy read - story felt rushed

I enjoyed the story here, but it felt rushed. I feel like it could've gone a lot deeper into the characters and story. I was surprised at the rush ending, lots more could've happened there. Overall, a light pleasant read, but could've been much better with more details.
