About this listen

Deputy Marshal Zebadiah Clemens can't die.

After the Civil War came to a close, Zeb decided to head west to raise cattle and a family if he could manage it. No sooner did he step off the train in Texas, a stray bullet knocked him senseless. Believing he'd somehow cheated death, he gave up on his peaceful plans and became a lawman.

A lawman with a secret. And an edge.

After migrating farther west into the New Mexico Territory, he expected to find the usual run-of-the-mill outlaws - not a strange woman watching him from the edge of his dreams. Meanwhile, stories of an inhuman monster attacking people in the nearby town of Devil's Creek begin making their rounds. Even crazier, Zeb feels compelled to hunt it - all while dealing with a murderous gang of outlaws and the missing boy of a waitress Zeb has taken a shine to.

He might be imagining it all - or still unconscious with a head wound - but with his luck, it's probably real.

Not Your Ordinary Western

The Beast of Devil's Creek is not your ordinary Western because it contains a supernatural twist. Zeb is a Deputy Marshal that is unlike any you will ever meet because for right now he is immortal but doesn't know why he was chosen. This book may be long but it will keep you entertained and give you a good laugh here and there. Craig W. Van Sickle did an amazing job and narrator he brought the story to life and had perfect comedic timing. I received this book for free from Audiobooks Unleashed and this is my honest unbiased review that I am voluntarily leaving of my own volition.

THE BEAST OF DEVILS CREEK

This is a different type of western. I liked Zeb. I dont like the supernatural part but still the storyline is great. Zeb goes after a gang that everyone is scared of. Even the local law. The local law wants to leave the outlaws alone and hope they will leave them be. There is a good storyline but I dont like the beast and that part but its still a great book. Ill listen to book two. Craig W Van Sickle does a great job narrating this book. If my review is any help will you please click on the helpful link below. Thank you.

Decent Western, poor Fantasy

This 1st book sets the stage for Zeb, who can die, but always comes back alive within hours. "The Lady" has granted him this so he can fight supernatural evil that entering the world of the Old West. Everything about this is mildly entertaining, except the narrator who mispronounces the most common of words.
