Cox and Forshaw's contention? There is no need for quantum mechanics to be viewed this way.

Time travel not just for 80s movies
In House of Abundance Publication’s ‘Beginners guide to parallel realities,’ we explore a variety of open-ended, spacious, and profound wonderings based on the myriad of scientific, technological, and spiritual gains within the last century. If something like quantum physics 100 years ago proved that we can collapse waves into particles (light/photons into physical matter) on a teeny, tiny scale just by observing and, at the same time, spiritual teachers are talking about different realities, dimensions, and parallel worlds, and on top of that, within the last decade or so, the world’s biggest brainiacs are postulating that we are in some kind of rendered virtual reality, then what does all of this madness mean?! It probably means that there is way more to reality then most of us can and have perceived. And so, ergo, those interested in such wonders might want to take in a beginner’s book such as this to get to grips, in simple terms, how the aforementioned marvels and additional mind-bending ideas such as time travel might not be just an 80s movie script idea. Excellent stuff.
