Something Different from Abbi Glines

This has really been the most unique of the Rosemary Beach series, but I like that the mysterious Captain got his happy ending. This book also answered some questions I had after finishing When You're Back.
Olivia really doesn't have the best male voice but it wasn't so bad as to take away from the entire audible experience.

It was okay!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes and no - it all depends. it was a good storyline but I felt rushed, like Abbi wanted to end the book. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Abbi Glines books, I was disappointed in this one.

Did Jason Carpenter and Olivia Song do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Jason and Olivia were okay. But, Olivia's man voice wasn't any good, she had a good voice for a woman only.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I felt the story was rushed, if Abbi would have made the storyline longer, and explained in details everything, I think there would have been a more of an impact on certain parts. Especially, when Captain reconnected with his daughter.

The sexy parts were really good, that's were Abbi focus her efforts. LOL!!

Any additional comments?

the ending was cute, but it should have been better. Wondering if there will be a 2nd part to this book.

THIS ROSEMARY BEACH SERIES HAS ME HOOKED

The Rosemary Beach series is undoubtedly one of my favorites that I never expected to be a favorite, but here I am A HUGE FAN. In a nutshell, Abbi Glines really gets it, she just totally knows how to create characters that you root for and want to know. This series is one that sneaks up on you and all of the sudden you're completely immersed in a world of twenty-somethings and their tragic pasts and hopeful romantic futures. The Best Goodbye is several stories into the series, so you should at least listen to When You're Back for context. All in all, this series is totally credit worthy and a must-listen.

Finally, Captain's story....

I've listened to every book in this series. I love and adore Abbi Glines and her writing.
There isn't too much mystery involved like a Gllian Flynn novel, but Abbi knows her audience. She understands what we come to her for and she delivers.

As with her other stories in this series, there is a set of lovers who are making their ways back into each others lives.

It's a easy read / listen. There is a good story and a happy ending.
Just enjoy this sweet treat Abbi has given us and add it to your cart =)

Fun!

Love Abbi Glines. Her stories are always entertaining although very much like a young soap opera.

Captain my Captain

Story was good and a nice continuation of the series, but I really Olivia Song’s male voice narration.

Great! (Read prior books to really appreciate)

I love this series. I've listened to the entire Rosemary Beach Series via Audible and have thoroughly enjoyed it, and actually need to catch up my reviews on all the books. The latest novel, The Best Goodbye, is River "Captain" Kipling's story. If you are familiar with the series, Captain is Blaire's brother, and we've gotten to know him in several of the previous novels. He was a bit of an enigma, but When Your're Back (Rosemary Beach #12 - Mace and Reese's story) gave you a little glimpse into Captain's background, and made me really excited about diving into his story.

River didn't have an easy childhood and when he lost someone he dearly loved, he struck out on his own, as a teenager, leaving everything behind, even his identity. What took place in the years that followed made him into the man he is now known as...."Captain." He's back in Rosemary Beach, eager to leave his past behind once again, and is planning on doing just that after he finishes getting a new Restaurant off the ground, a task which is turning into a pain in his a**, especially with having to juggle his head server, Elle, and her misconceptions about their so-called relationship around. Then there is Rose......and there is something about Rose that infuriates him and makes him want to devour her in the same breath.

Rose Henderson's reason for being in Rosemary Beach goes far deeper than just being a waitress at the new Resort there. In fact, she's on a mission.....one which involves River "Captain" Kipling.......a mission that could change Captain/River's life as he knows it forever. As the details of who Rose really is and why she is there gradually unfold, to say things get intense is to put it mildly. Past, present, and future collide as a life that was merges with a life that is, and a possible life that could be is held in the balance, teetering precariously on decisions, actions, trust, and truth.

I loved the characters in the book and I loved watching Captain's character evolve into a man that dreams are made of. I don't want to say too much about Rose, because who she is and why she is there are the heart of the story. I will say that The Best Goodbye was sexy, romantic, dangerous, intense, and it ended beautifully. For fans of the series, you'll definitely want to check this one out.

Alas, now we wait on Nan's story....and boy does Abbi Glines have her work cut out for her with that. I can't wait to see what she brings to the table, and if the glimpse she gives us at the end of The Best Goodbye is a hint at what I think it might be, we all better hold onto our seat and look out for one heck of a ride.
