About this listen

From New York Times best-selling authors Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward comes the first book in a new sexy duet.

How to kick off a great summer in the Hamptons:

Snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check.

Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check.

How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:

Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the tony-looking crowd. A guy you can’t have when you’ll be leaving at the end of the season.

Check. Check. Check.

I should add - especially when the guy is your sexy, tattooed god of a boss.

Especially when he not only owns your place of employment but inherited half of the town.

Especially when he’s mean to you.

Or so I thought.

Until one night when he demanded I get in his car so he could drive me home because he didn’t want me walking in the dark.

That was sort of how it all started with Rush.

And then little by little, some of the walls of this hardass man started to come down.

I never expected that the two of us, seemingly opposites from the outside, would grow so close.

I wasn't supposed to fall for the rebel heir, especially when he made it clear he didn’t want to cross the line with me.

As the temperature turned cooler, the nights became hotter. My summer became a lot more interesting - and complicated.

All good things must come to an end, right?

Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

Rebel Heir is the first book in the Rush Series Duet. Book Two, Rebel Heart, will release six weeks later on May, 22, 2018.

GREAT STORY, BUT THE ENDING....OMG!!

I'm so glad I listened to this book once the second book was already released or I'd have been incredibly pissed at the way it ended. So abruptly and random! Aside from that, this was a BEAUTIFUL love story. In light of how the story unfolds I had moments of feeling like, how the heck are we going to reach a happily ever after? There's plenty of sexiness throughout the story, as well as twists and turns as the book progresses. Excellent writing as usual, and as far as the narration, I'm always pleased with Sebastian York. Maxine Mitchell didn't seem to fit the profile of the female character however. Overall, I'd recommend this book to someone, and I cannot wait another minute to see what happens next!

It gives too much away

This book didn’t grab me the way some of the others have. Although I loved how they subtly mentioned Cocky Bastard which I gave five stars. I think my biggest issue was I wasn’t invested in the characters.

This is a very slow burn story with a lot of sexual chemistry and some pretty intense scenes, but the big “payoff” doesn’t happen until almost the end of the story. It was explosive when it did.

I loved the narration and was able to enjoy the story, but once Gia’s big revelation happened, I figured out the huge plot twist. I don’t really like when I can guess where a book is going, and I prefer to be surprised. The twist was telegraphed in a big way, and it would be hard not to guess.

This one does end in a cliffhanger, and I’ll be honest I don’t care about book two because I can already guess where it is going. So I am going to hold off for a bit. I am going to rate Rebel Heir 4 Boundless Stars, and I did enjoy it.

REBEL HEIR : BOOK ONE: THE RUSH SERIES

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED, THIS BOOK. THIS IS JUST VOLUME 1 SO THERE IS STILL ANOTHER BOOK TO LISTEN TO AFTER THIS BUT SINCE I ENJOYED VOLUME 1 SO MUCH I'M HOPEFUL THE NEXY 1/2 WILL BE JUST AS GOOD. GIA WAS ASKED BY HER ROOMMATE TO FILL IN FOR HER SO SHE COULD TAKE OFF WORK TO GO BE WITH HER SISTER WHOM WAS HAVING A BABY. GIA DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT TENDING BAR OR MIXING DRINKS SO WHEN SHE WAS ASKED TO MIX DRINKS SHE HAD KNOW IDEA HOW TO MAKE, SHE KNEW SHE WAS IN TROUBLE. ALL A SUDDEN SOME GORGEOUS GUY POPPED OFF TO HER ABOUT HOW WOULD THE OWNER FEEL KNOWING SHE WAS TENDING HIS BAR WITH NO KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT SHE WAS DOING AND GIA RATTLED BACK WITH ADDITUDE THAT HE PROBABLY WOULDN'T LIKE IT AT ALL. NEXT THING SHE HEARS IS THE GUY WHO ASKED THE QUESTION THAT HE WAS OWNER. SEBASTIAN YORK AND MAXINE MITCHELL ARE TWO OF THE BEST NARRATORS AND VI KEELAND AND PENELOPE WARD WRITE THE BEST STORIES EVER SO HOW CAN YOU GO WRONG LISTENING TO THIS BOOK. I BELIEVE YOU'LL ENJOY THIS STORY SO MY HOPES ARE THAT YOU'LL GIVE IT A LISTEN. GIA ENDS UP PREGNANT AND NO IT'S NOT BY THE HUNKY BAR OWNER ALTHOUGH GIA AND RUSH (THE BAR OWNER) DO BECOME VERY TAKEN WITH EACH OTHER BUT THAT'S NOT THE END OF THIS STORY BY ANY MEANS BUT I'M NOT GOING TO SAY ANY MORE AND RUIN THE STORY FOR YOU. YOU'LL JUST HAVE TAKE A LISTEN FOR YOURSELVES

Can't say much more without giving away the plot.

OMG

I loved this story. The character depth and crass, but honorable nature of Rush was great. Gia was a realistic character as well. Through some miss haps and steamy build up I really enjoyed this book. It was too drawn out and the evolution of the story was smooth. The narration was on point as well! I would highly recommend this audio book or even just reading the book.

Cliffhanger, but a good story

This was a tangled mess of a romantic story from the first chapter. Rush is a sexy, bad boy whose business entrepreneurship was dropped in his lap by way of an inheritance. Gia is in the Hamptons to get some inspiration for writing her breakthrough novel. When circumstances through them together in the weirdest of ways, their feelings for each other soon cannot be ignored.
The story was interestingly written with emotional ups and downs, and lots of angsty banter.
The audiobook narrators are true veterans of their craft and you can tell in the emotions portrayed in this book.
