About this listen

In The Big Book of Reincarnation, Roy Stemman attempts to answer one of the big questions of existence: Is death the end? Or is it the merely the end of a chapter in the book of existence?

A self-described "skeptical believer", Stemman uses his skills as a professional journalist to perform an in-depth exploration of reincarnation. Using case studies, anecdotes, and physical evidence from the best-documented cases from around the world, Stemman shines a bright light on this subject, inviting listeners to decide for themselves on the basis of facts rather than on the basis of hearsay, speculation, and superstition.

Stemman finds fascinating examples of evidence of reincarnation in the nightmares of a Louisiana bayou boy, the past-life recall of a renowned neurosurgeon, the research of a highly respected university professor, and the unique system of governance in the mountains of Tibet, to name just a few. He examines the lives of those affected by reincarnation, such as children who can actually remember their previous lives. Instead of shying away from the skeptics, Stemman evaluates their leading theories and compares them to the findings that he has accumulated throughout his global research.

The Big Book of Reincarnation is thorough, well researched, engaging, and the most comprehensive book ever published on this fascinating subject.

The scientific approach used by the researchers should convince everyone to take a serious look at the concept of reincarnation.

A thorough compilation of numerous aspects of the subject of reincarnation. Somewhat dry, but the author was most diligent in his research.

An extensive review of the subject!

Good narration and primarily non-biased approach to looking into various cases for reincarnation while also presenting some opposing viewpoints. Thoroughly interesting to me.

Good overview of several views of reincarnation

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

This is a compilation of some of the work done by others.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The surname of Edgar Cayce was mispronounced dozens of times.

nothing new

I am fascinated by the subject of reincarnation and I read (or listen to) any books I can find on it. This audible book was loaded with a lot of information and highlighted a lot of the early researchers. My only complaint was I was put off by the narrator and his gross misinterpretations of common names. It sometimes took me a while to figure out who or where he was talking about. Edgar Cayce is not pronounced “Case,” it’s pronounced “Casey,” Helen Wambaugh was not “Wom-batch,” Myanmar he pronounced “Myna-Mar,” Lake Elsinore is pronounced like it looks, not “Ellisnore,” etc. having a British accent doesn’t make it OK to mispronounce common names. I would have enjoyed this book much more with a different narrator.

Seriously, are you just going to rewrite all Stevenson's works or do you have any thoughts of your own. Disappointed

Just a regurgitation of Stevenson works.

I don't know if it's possible for a reader to mispronounce almost every single name in a book but this guy came close. not only contemporary names but also ancient Egyptian names that I thought everyone knew how to pronounce the reader pronounced in his own way. and it's not just because he's British and I'm American and so perhaps I'm confused by different pronunciations, This guy mispronounced Edward Cayce. which was a prominent American author from the '30s so he just is simply phonetically reading the names in this book and not in any way attempting to ensure that he is saying them correctly. if I was the author of this book I would be extremely disappointed that the person who was chosen to read my work took absolutely no time to ensure they were doing it with any sort of care

mispronouncing reader
