About this listen

A humble boat builder seeks to teach his three sons that they must learn to work together, or they will never accomplish anything great. Constantly competing with one another, the brothers fail to do their work each day, much to the disappointment of their father. Finally, a challenge comes along so great that the brothers learn that "It does not matter who does the most, but rather what we can accomplish together that makes the difference."

Perfect for car trips, bedtime stories, or just for quiet time, this captivating audio anthology emerges from professional author and father of two, A.D. Hasselbring. A Thicket of Tales ignites the imagination, builds self-worth, and strengthens confidence through artfully crafted fairy tales with a contemporary voice. Hasselbring’s innovative, family-friendly storytelling engages children, keeping their minds active through positive characters, new vocabulary, and stunning imagery. As each tale unfolds, it paints vibrant portraits of heroes and heroines and encourages children to explore their boundless imaginations in stories that teach life lessons “with a billow of wind wrapped in a gust of imagination.”

Play it again!!!

Where does The Brothers Three rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's probably the top choice in my house. My six-year old little guy just sits there, mesmerized, and then yells "play it again!" the second it's over? And you know what? It's not annoying, so I don't mind!

What did you like best about this story?

It's exciting, teaches important lessons about working together (important for a little guy with a little sis), and offers some serious adventure along the lines of Robinson Crusoe...we get really tired of the 'watered down" adventure stories that we keep running into. It's nice to see him get really excited about a story! (Not to mention little sister, too!)

What about A.D. Hasselbring’s performance did you like?

It's just soothing enough of a voice that the "nail-biter" parts of the story read as exciting.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

You bet! Perfect length.

Any additional comments?

We LOVE this. Will definitely be trying others from the series.
