About this listen
Have we lost our way as business leaders?
Algorithms. Artificial intelligence. Big data. No matter what your industry, you can't escape the influence of technology in every facet of your business. But in spite of their incredible potential, these and similar technologies are forcing us to face a vital question: are we in danger of gaining the world but losing our souls?
Using stories and case studies from business, entertainment, psychology, and history, seasoned sales leader Adam Boggs uses the metaphor of jazz to remind us that storytelling, innovation, and human connection are crucial for good business. If you're in business, you're also an artist with the potential to craft meaningful work.
In The Business Artist, you'll come face-to-face with a simple truth: as we head into a data-driven future, the only way forward is by becoming more human.

You'd be unstoppable. In this book, Mel teaches you how to start high fiving the most important person in your life, the one who is staring back at you in the mirror: YOURSELF.

Learn a new approach to making things happen
This is one of those rare, really thoughtful books that has provided me a fresh and effective way to reframe the otherwise mundane. The authors provided countless relatable examples that allowed me to be introspective. It's fun to think about which concepts may already be part of how I think and then others I want to make sure I do not overlook.
This read a lot like Malcolm Gladwell's Blink and Outliers to me. Taking topics I thought I knew or were too ambiguous to make objective and then bringing them together in an 'action plan' sort of way. Definitely recommend The Business Artist.

Well Done Gents!!!
Great audiobook on business that gives the listener clarity on different methods for sales using unique and successful tactics such as being innovative, the importance of storytelling, and perfect analogies in order to maintain customer loyalty and appreciation. This book goes above and beyond the idea that we be our best self in order to help others.
The other thing that made this audiobook amazing was the fact that it sounded like it was read from a podium. It gave it the life of an education seminar. One that would be costly to attend.

Exactly What I Needed to Hear!
I love the jazz symbolism and I was able to latch on and grasp all the wisdom in this book easily. I am a small business owner (Recording Studio) and I was able to immediately implement new ways of approaching how I conduct business the day after listening to this audiobook. I was able to listen to the whole audiobook in one sitting which is rare for business and money audiobooks, so that is a real strength here. The narration was excellent and sounded professional. There's nothing to dislike here, I am grateful for this new human approach to completing sales!

makes you think
I enjoyed this book, bringing many insights into creativity at work. It's pragmatic in it's advice...obviously innovation can not happen everywhere and can sometimes slow the business down...but I really enjoyed the way the book wove business innovation around creating music that resonates. I had to keep a side journal throughout listening to this book as I found my mind focusing on new ideas or new ways to look at business problems. A read I would definitely recommend.

you can't lose that human touch
As technology and the use of AI develops exponentially, I can already see how software, chatbots, and generative AI is eliminating the need for a human touch in a lot of businesses (including my own). This audiobook is a refreshing perspective on retaining that human touch, connection, and authenticity in the business world today. The most surprising and insightful aspect about this book is the reference to jazz, which highlights the creative and improvisational aspects of business that is often overlooked in favor of a more concrete and logical data based approach. I love the mention that we as business owners shouldn't forget our artistic abilities that come from crafting meaningful work and solutions through our businesses. I also always applaud authors that narrate their own non-fiction books. Writing a book is already very difficult itself, but narrating one requires an entirely new skillset. Overall a great book, I highly recommend it to all business owners and I will be taking this to heart as I continue to scale my own.

Fresh approach to sales and sales tactics.
The human element is often tricky to navigate. In sales, you don't want to sound too pushy or too passive. This book offers valuable insight into the proper approaches you need to be successful. I will definitely listen to it again to help harness all of its valuable insight.
