I’m Adam, a self-proclaimed social theorist who loves diving into the intricate workings of our world. I have a deep-seated passion for blending the beauty of artistic principles with technology, business, and society, unlocking fascinating new viewpoints along the way. My first book, The Business Artist, has been my labor of love over the past few years. Drawing from my time as a consultant, I’ve seen firsthand how artistic principles differentiate top performers in business. But there’s a challenge: balancing the appeal of creativity and innovation against the comfort of data-driven certainty. In a similar vein, I recently launched Meahana, a platform that shares this mission. Both are designed to ignite your creativity, giving you the tools you need to steer your artistic vision. I had a great American upbringing. I was born in Phoenix, Arizona, then moved to Indiana when I was nine. My family—a teacher mom, a salesman dad, and my three siblings—shaped me and my outlook on life. Art captured my heart in my middle and high school music theater days. Over time, that love grew to encompass all forms of art. After completing my computer and management degrees at Purdue, I relocated to Los Angeles, where I met Chrissi Hernandez, my beautiful wife. A talented art major and designer, Chrissi broadened my understanding of the artistic world, revealing how the use of light, composition, and aesthetics can provoke emotion. Living with Chrissi has taught me an important lesson. Everyone is capable of artistic expression. Seriously, living with an artist will change the way you see things. This revelation, combined with my professional background, inspired me to start my mental output into voice memos, hundreds of observational research notes, and eventually writing The Business Artist. The book champions the idea that everyone, like renowned directors or AI tools interpreting the same script, has their unique style and artistic potential, especially in professional roles. Technology has always been a strong interest of mine. My friends would call me a tinkerer. From disassembling desktops in the mid-90s to co-founding a computer networking business in high school, I’ve always been right there as technology evolved. My tinkering continues in music and DJing to this day under the name DJ Street Meat. My extensive technology experience and time spent co-creating workshops with pioneering tech companies culminated in Meahana’s inception. We saw a clear need for a platform that would enable leaders to create their own workshops, unhampered by the wrong tools. So, we made Meahana a platform where simplicity meets sophistication, unlocking the inner facilitator in everyone. It really is like an artist’s studio for professionals to collaborate in new and exciting ways. The Business Artist Movement is focused on nurturing the artist within every professional. Together, we can explore this unique mindset and make a real difference.
