About this listen

Spontaneous combustion and exhumation, drug mules and devil worshippers, a gruesome killing beneath the Palmerston North Airport control tower, a mysterious death in a historic homestead, a firsthand dissection of the infamous Mark Lundy case...

In The Cause of Death, provincial pathologist Dr. Cynric Temple-Camp lifts the lid on the most unusual stories of death and murder he's encountered during his 30-year career.

The author covers all kinds of deaths - natural, accidental and criminal. He explains the findings and how he reaches those conclusions in way that someone with little knowledge of human anatomy and physiology can understand. Each case is interesting on its own. yet they are artfully woven together. Recommend.

Scientific yet room for human emotion

The author approached a difficult subject with candor, sometimes laugh-out-loud dark humor and heartfelt compassion.
I recommend this title wholeheartedly.

Tastefully Written.

I loved the stories and how the author made it so touching. The patients of course died, but he wrote it with such respect and dignity.

Amazing stories!

Great book! I, also have a morbid curiosity and death and murder and is the best book I've read in a long time!! . Kept my interest the entire book. Great narrator as well. Have already purchased "The Quick and the Dead." Can't wait to listen to it!!

Great Book!!!!!

Forensic pathology is very interesting to me. I also enjoy hearing the stories of train, work and experiences from non-US countries. The only ding is the extra effort to try to read snd sound german for the author. Just sounded like a Hogan's Heroes dialect at times. Unnecessary IMO

I enjoy thoughtful well told non-fiction

Well written, interesting and beautifullly narrated. I've read several of these types of forensic books and this one was my favorite.

Excellent

I personally love true crime, and have always wanted to hear the pathologists side of things. This book does that! And it's not a constant droning on. The author is actually telling you a story. I love the pace as well. Gets right to the story without skipping anything or over explaining. Would recommend!

Love it!
