About this listen

When Christopher Hostettler comes from Ohio to work at his uncle's shop in Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania, he gets off on the wrong foot with Emily Fisher. But when he finally opens up to her about his tragic reasons for leaving home, her heart begins to change.

When Christopher compliments an old quilt, Emily decides to make a similar quilt for Christopher as a gesture of friendship. Emily knows she must guard her heart, as Christopher is not a baptized member of the church, but she's suddenly found someone with whom she can imagine sharing a future. When a family emergency calls Christopher back home to Ohio, Emily decides to finish the quilt, in spite of her pain, and send it to him for Christmas. But when Christopher receives it, will he have the courage to truly follow his heart?

Love this Book!!

I really enjoyed the second book in the series, as much as I enjoyed the first one. Amy Clipston did a wonderful job with developing each character. She is also a great writer, I laughed with the characters and cried with them as well. I was ready for the end and at the same time, I did not want it to end. I have discovered with this series a new author that I would love to listen or read more of her work.

I just love these series.

You need to use the same narrator for these books especially if it’s a series.

Ach!

I was hoping by the third book in this series that the author would have developed further as a writer. Her plots are great! But it is wearisome when they are CONSTANTLY thinking negatively about themselves and questioning whether they're worthy, or what the other person is thinking, or what that look meant! When she chooses death and grief in each book as her method of stirring strong emotions, it gets tiresome and gloomy. And why would we want to teach our young women that they must be "the most beautiful" and their love interest must be "the most handsome"? It's not realistic, and certainly not necessary. Yet there is such an emphasis on this that eveyone must comment on how good-looking they are, as if that prooves why they should be interested in the person. I'm switching authors and publishers.
