About this listen

Hannah Glick finds herself at a crossroads in her life. Her community offers her love and support after the untimely death of her husband, but an Englisher offers her the chance of a new life after her unexpected tragedy.

Wealthy businessman Trey Peterson is surprised by his attraction to the gentle Amish woman who works as a housekeeper in the Lancaster Grand Hotel. They share a common bond of loss and are able to offer each other comfort and support as they journey through their grief.

Joshua Glick wants nothing more than to offer his friendship and love to Hannah and her family. Not only is he her late husband's brother and business partner, but he has always been in love with Hannah.

A Hopeful Heart is filled with surprising twists as Hannah tries to balance her life in the Amish community and her growing love for an outsider.

Changes in Life

This story was about struggle within a person's conscience. It was fiction but could have been non-fiction in the everyday life of a young widow living in the Amish faith. It was well written and ended differently than you might suspect.

A 1st for me…

Interesting story … cultural differences and big decisions…. I enjoyed that is felt more realistic than following the usual pattern and I liked the main characters!! Looking forward to getting into some of the minor characters introduced in this story and seeing where their journey goes ‼️

Tender story

I enjoyed this first book in the series and look forward to the next book.
I enjoy stories about Amish life as it is a simple yet complex religion. The story revolves around a widow in the Amish community and a wodower in the “Englisch” community who find great similarities in their lives which draws tbem to one another.
The implications of such a relationship rocks the Amish community in ways we cannot comprehend. The choice to leave means excommunication.
The narrator does a great job telling the story and bringing the characters alive.
Well done and as I said, I cannot wait to start the next book in the series.

Fantastic book!

Love the storyline! Narrator could have done better for a couple voices but it definitely wouldn't keep me from listening to it again.

German classes

The story was done well, but the narrator should take at least a few basic German classes. "Wie gehts" for example is pronounced "Vee Gates". A review of a few of the rules would be helpful.

What would it be like to leave everything you ever knew and start over

We can't help who we love. And sometimes we have to make difficult decisions, no matter how many people stand against us. I enjoyed this story because all the characters felt so real. Was very well written? And if you are listening to the audio copy, you might want to put it on fast forward. It's a little slow, but a good story, all the same
