About this listen

In her youth, Molly Anderson couldn't help crushing on gorgeous bad-boy Dylan Black - even though he only had eyes for her older sister. When things didn't work out between them, he said goodbye to Molly as well, vowing they'd have a great adventure when she grew up. Years later, dumped by her fiancé just before Christmas, she's finally ready to take Dylan up on his promise.

A guarded Dylan always had a weakness for Molly, and when she waltzes back into his life - grown-up and gorgeous - he's stunned. So why not whisk her away for some no-strings-attached fun?

Laughter-filled days and late-night kisses are changing Molly's life, for good. The only gift she truly wants now is Dylan's love, but when he discovers the secret she's been keeping, she may lose him again - this time forever.

Really great story. Fun and different. Enjoyed how it was narrated. The story line was unique. Who would gave thought anybody would go for it at the beginning.

Read it for yourself.

I generally love all of Susan Mallery's work, and this could be one of the ones I love. I just have to read it for myself. The narrator on this one is not so great. Her voice is dull and just disengaging. She may do better on other books, but this one is not so great.

The story line seems to be okay as far as the book goes, it's been difficult to follow due to the narration.

Great Story. Questionable narration.

Always love Susan Mallery, but we all know the narration can make or break a story. Had a difficult time with this narrator. I felt like I was listening to a 12 year old. I got through most of the story, but when she started describing her sexual encounters in detail, well it kind of creeped me out. I had to fast forward through that. I finished the book but the narration really took away from the story.

So many good narrators, this was not one of them

This was an okay holiday story, certainly not one of Susan Mallery's best. It was difficult to get through though due to the narrator. The voice of Molly, main character, was so irritating. For as insecure as Molly was, her voice should have sounded softer, more timid, instead she sounded course, more like a street walker. Surprisingly, the male character's voice wasn't bad.

Love the story line but be prepared for narration

Overall enjoyed the storyline.
If you've read Susan Mallery before you will not be disappointed. If you haven't you're in for a real treat.
The narration was okay. The voice chosen for the main character just started to grate on me after the first chapter. Especially since the voices of the supporting characters were done so well. Main characters voice was more child like and "oh golly gee wiz" -ish. Just didn't fit at all with a mature woman but more with a teenager or coming of age story.

Susan Mallery Has Done Better

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I adore Susan Mallery, but this book fell so flat for me. Molly was so winey and annoying, I just couldn't take her inner criticism of herself anymore. I finished it till the (as I always finish the books I start) but I found myself increasing the speed just to get it completed.

Narrator is horrible

I love all Susan Mallery books except maybe 2 and I think this is 2. The story was sweet I wish I would have just read it. Oh man the narrator is dull, dry and boring and her voice is annoying. I will steer clear from any other books she narrates. I'm requesting a refund I just can't deal with listening. I'll use my refund money and buy the book. Happy Reading!!!

Mediocre narration detracts from story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Christmas Wedding Ring?

I like that Susan Mallery isn't afraid to tackle the tough subjects.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Narrator is a good reader, but needs more acting talent to be able to portray the various characters better.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Will keep this one in my Christmas Audible collection.

Too much Self Loathing

What disappointed you about The Christmas Wedding Ring?

The main character is so self deprecating and self loathing that its hard to listen to. It made me uncomfortable.

What could Susan Mallery have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

This character could have been stronger without the constant self loathing lines.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Not really
