About this listen

How do you clothe a book?

In this deeply personal reflection, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jhumpa Lahiri explores the art of the book jacket from the perspectives of both reader and writer. Probing the complex relationships between text and image, author and designer, and art and commerce, Lahiri delves into the role of the uniform; explains what book jackets and design have come to mean to her; and how, sometimes, "the covers become a part of me".

Where's the Italian version?

This is a pretty good essay on book covers. However, it was a bitter disappointment for me. I simply loved the bilingual edition of 'In Other Words' and even if I found at times painful Mrs. Lahiri's pronunciation, I enjoyed the original version very much. Here I find only the English translation.

I really recommend the editor to release Mrs. Lahiri's following writings bilingual. I think the author is pleased to narrate in Italian and there are many Italian or Italian-speaking fans (such as me) who want to listen the original text.
