Publisher's summary

Imagine the moment: You enter a bookstore and make your way to that aisle. There it is, crisply typeset and beautifully displayed, quietly announcing its promise to passersby.

It looks so perfectly legitimate. From its humble origins as little more than an intriguing notion in your mind, your idea has developed into a tangible book in a store. Editors, publishers, and copy experts have all poured over it, partnering with you in the process. You watch as a perfect stranger scoops it up, browses for an endless moment, then carries it to the counter. Your words and your world are about to become a part of a stranger’s internal intellectual life.

There is something special about being a writer. Yet the process is not mystical - it’s just hard work. Here is how you can do that hard work intelligently, from a writer who loves the craft and has a publishing history to show for it.

Douglas Kruger is the author of 12 commercially published books, with four separate publishers on three different continents. His topics span business, wealth, leadership, politics, and philosophy. In this surprisingly quick, surprisingly thorough, surprisingly humorous little guide, he covers the practical how-to of writing and publishing your nonfiction book, as well as providing simple but profound insights on how to elevate the quality of your writing.

Great book, even for authors

I grabbed this book on a recommendation, and I’m so glad that I did. I have published commercially in the past, and still walked away from quite a few tips and insights from what Douglas shared. Without reservation, I recommend this brief but powerful book for anyone who is trying to improve their book-writing game.

Actionable and Helpful

I loved listening to this book, Douglas narrates it with ease and excellence, and as you’d expect from him, the content is amazing.

I love just how practical, insightful, and actionable the information is. You can tell that he knows what he’s talking about and that he truly wants to help others become successful and impactful authors.

I take my hat off to Douglas, he’s hands down one of the most amazing speakers I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing, and this book has helped me to write my latest book. Gracias Douglas.
