About this listen

A stand-alone set during the Ark Royal Era.

The Royal Navy never expected to fight a full-scale interstellar war. Everyone knew the Great Powers would never risk everything on armed conflict when there was plenty of room for everyone in outer space. But when a hostile alien force stumbles across humanity's handful of colony worlds, the Great Powers must set aside their differences and fight to preserve humanity from utter destruction.

Desperate for starships and manpower, the Royal Navy embarks upon an ambitious plan of converting freighters into makeshift carriers and recruiting reservists and criminals to fill the ranks. Classed as expendable, the small carriers will be given the most dangerous missions to slow a remorseless alien foe.... And the pardons their crews have been offered will be meaningless if they die.

Unfortunately pulled by the nose hair towards the end and the Epilog was not very convincing.

I was not really thrilled with book ten in this series as I felt like it was a rehash of an already told story. This , however, is quite good !! A total different story line set in the same universe. Good job Mr. Nuttall !!!!!

A nice change !!

Couldn't care less about the characters or the story. Fell asleep listening to it and I have no desire to go back and hear everything I missed. Sending it back.

Boring!

Nothing flashy, special, or particularly surprising about the next installment here in the Ark Royal universe.

If you enjoy the style of the series so far this is a fine continuation of it. There’s nothing poor about this book, but nothing great either.

I listen to Sci-Fi fantasy when i need something mentally engaging and light, but don’t expect to be stunned. That said i’d buy it again and i enjoyed it.

A fine continuation of a well defined series and universe
