About this listen

For years, Heather Tradescant had dreamed of the journey she and her father would take to England, a pilgrimage to the great gardens of history. Now that her father is dead, Heather is determined to fulfill his dreams.

Unfortunately, her request to see the fabled 17th-century garden of Troytan House is denied by the owner. Though unwelcome, she braves the walls of briars and reaches the Victorian manor house beyond. She senses a strange mission of evil lurking, tainting the manor's peaceful beauty. Only then does Heather begin to wonder whether it is only stories of long-vanished witchcraft that haunt Troytan House or whether there is some more modern horror, hearer at hand, and far, far more dangerous.

Continuing in the classic tradition she established with such acclaimed novels of suspense as Stitches in Time, Vanish with the Rose, and House of Stone, New York Times best-selling author Barbara Michaels has penned a chilling tale that will keep you reading until the last page.

Don't get the abridged version of this book..

I got the full version of this book from the library years ago and remembered enjoying it and the reader... So when I saw it on Audible I bought it.

The "abridged" version is pretty bad. You lose more than half the story and don't understand what happens from scene to scene, especially towards the end of the book.

Whatever confrontation occurs in "the maze" and however the characters end up rescued or in the hospital is completely gone from the book.

I guess I didn't realize that this was abridged when I got it.... Don't waste your money or your credit on anything but the full version of this book.

Why the abridged?

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Yes, I would not have bought it had I known it was abridged, I thought it was going to be a short story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

None, I disliked all of them , it's a lame romance story. It's not for knowledge seeking, it's just fun. Hated the son, what a rude, self centered child.

What about Barbara Rosenblat’s performance did you like?

She is great, she manages to make any story good.

Could you see The Dancing Floor being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

NO
