About this listen

Soon to be a major motion picture starring Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba!

In this third volume, several months have passed, and Roland's two new tet-mates have become trained gunslingers. Eddie Dean has given up heroin, and Odetta's two selves have joined, becoming the stronger and more balanced personality of Susannah Dean. But while battling The Pusher in 1977 New York, Roland altered ka by saving the life of Jake Chambers, a boy who - in Roland's world - has already died. Now Roland and Jake exist in different worlds, but they are joined by the same madness: the paradox of double memories.

Roland, Susannah, and Eddie must draw Jake into Mid-World and then follow the Path of the Beam all the way to the Dark Tower. Along the way our tet stumbles into the ruined city of Lud, and are caught between the warring gangs of the Pubes and the Grays. The only way out of Lud is to wake Blaine the Mono, an insane train that has a passion for riddling, and for suicidal journeys.

What a beautiful journey! With a lot of spins and turns, but nonetheless beautiful. There are some amazing pieces of imagination there, that will let you think about them, not only for a little while but for a long time. Probably you will wander why only 4 stars then. Well, I would have loved to see more action, and that the books are written more fast paced. They are too descriptive, and takes a long time to get from A to B. I could not say that I burned with impatience to get into the next book, and the next, as fast as I could, but I was still curious, and more than in one occasion pleasantly surprised. #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

I'm a huge fan of Stephen King and The Dark Tower series is by far his greatest work. I'm absolutely hooked. The narration of Frank Muller pulled me in even more. His different voices brought characters to life and I have become attached to them through his interpretations just as if they were real people, real friends (I'm not ashamed to say that Oy is now my favorite). If I could give this more then 5 stars, I would in a heartbeat. Great story! Great narrator!

Amazing!!

I never knew Mr. King could write like this. He is no longer a monger of ghosts and fear in my mind, but a true artist with a tale.

I cannot stop. I am beyond broke, and behind on bills, yet I still keep forking over the dough to buy the next book. I feel like Eddie felt for his fix.
