Publisher's summary

A new beginning, 1,300 years in the past....

In medieval Europe, three explorers from the distant future begin an ambitious project: to build a craft capable of reaching the stars. While their leader oversees the construction of a secret underground base in Iceland, the other two travel thousands of miles to negotiate with the rulers of Europe and recruit the most brilliant minds of the age. When the Iceland base comes under attack, the travelers try to return to defend their home, but they are trapped in Paris just as an army of 20,000 Vikings lays siege to the city. To survive, they must defend Paris from the hordes of Norsemen and fight their way back to Iceland to save their new home - and keep the dream of the Iron Dragon alive.

The Dawn of the Iron Dragon is the second installment in the Iron Dragon trilogy, which began with The Dream of the Iron Dragon. The saga will conclude with The Voyage of the Iron Dragon.

The Iron Dragon trilogy is being produced as part of the phenomenally successful Saga of the Iron Dragon Kickstarter, which raised more than $10,000. Meticulously researched and packed with action, this series is a must for sci-fi and alternate-history fans.

On to book 3

The story line drags at times, but overall I'm glad I finished. On to book 3.

Another Great Story

This is an awesome series! In fact, instead of writing more of this review, I'm moving on to the third book. Later;

Better than Vol 1 - Still Pronunciation Errors

Iron Dragon 2 develops personalities better than the first book, and the story hangs together well. But some of the pronunciation errors that continue with nautical terms and with place names are highly irritating. Example: Lyon should be pronounced "Lee-own" not "Lye-on.' Still, a nice piece of alt-history and SF with a good take on the classic time traveler paradox.

These books keep getting worse

The first book in the series, The Iron Dragon, was ok, and I hoped the author would improve with this book. If anything he got worse. Their is less character development and interaction and more of an after action report feel to large chunks of the book. The narrator is subpar and is almost the equivalent of "Bueller? Bueller?". I wanted a different narrator but hope was crushed mercilessly beneath the heel of reality. Save your money or credit and stop at book 1. Don't make the mistake I made.
