Publisher's summary

The discovery of long-lost mail delivers a marriage proposal, a missing person, and a magical mystery.

A road trip with Gabe and her friends leads Sylvia to discover more about her mother’s veiled past yet throws up several questions, too. The stack of unopened letters addressed to her family will hopefully provide answers. As she delves into the contents, a startling revelation emerges: the letters allude to a clandestine union between two magician families, hinting at the elusive identity of Sylvia’s father.

Full of hope, she embarks on a quest to find the author of the letters, only to discover an artless youth who vanished decades ago, a dead man with the wrong name, and a hospital for former soldiers that connects them. The further Sylvia and Gabe delve into these mysteries, the more lies they expose, including long-buried secrets that certain individuals will stop at nothing to protect.

When danger strikes, Sylvia wonders if finding answers is worth the risk.

Impeccable Narration to a Wonderful Series

Marian Hussey is the best narrator I’ve ever listened to! So talented. Super cute series.. very, very enjoyable for any age.

The characters

I enjoyed the story but must have missed a book as it took me a while to catch up to present plot as a few characters had changed . After that enjoyed the narrator and the story. But it was a little too predictable at the end.

Interesting storyline, frustrating character development.

I have really appreciated and enjoyed the two glass series. This one is becoming more and more frustrating because the character development between the main characters is so glacial that it’s becoming painful.

Another good book in this series.

I just wish the two would get together already. Story was entertaining and at times I couldn't put it down. Good addition to this series.

The narrator

I loved this series so much just for the narration. The story thrives this way.

The character development is well written with unforgettable quirks.

I enjoyed all of the glass and Steele book from before so I wanted to try the spin off. I love how the author keeps with the same feel in these books as it was in the first series. It is an enjoyable read/listen with lots of smile moments. Keeping some of the characters from the first series and add them to this series has made it a fun and unique. Maby books just stop and don't fill in anymore details and start over the series. This author really cherishes her characters and it shows in the writing. I can't wait for the next book.

The two main characters were wonderful! But the supporting cast were just as intriguing.

It kept me engaged, the whole way through. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I’ll just say there were a couple of true gasp out loud moments. Can’t wait for the next one, but am going to start the Glass and Steel series, of which I was unaware until I started this one.
And, the narrator! Wonderful!
