About this listen

A LONG FORGOTTEN PAST IS ABOUT TO RESURFACE

What if the greatest secret of the US Civil War never made the history books? What if the Union and the Confederacy fought not just for country and principle, but for an ancient source of unlimited, unimaginable wealth and power?

While on a classified mission from the president, secret agent turned treasure hunter Sean Wyatt and his sidekick, Tommy Schultz, stumble upon these darkest American mysteries long thought to be lost to history. To guard these truths and the power they conceal, Sean and Tommy must battle a rich and powerful secret society bent on unearthing these secrets for themselves—a clandestine cabal willing to lie, steal, and kill—even the president himself—for a shot at limitless power.

Their goal is simple: reshaping the country according to their dark, dangerous plans.

Ernest Dempsey exploded onto the scene of adventure fiction authors and has entertained millions with his books. Find out why the Sean Wyatt Series of archaeological thrillers has some of the best adventure fiction kindle unlimited has to offer.

I absolutely dislike AI narrators actually I hate it, they don’t follow punctuation and they make mistakes making the sentences not flow. Please bring back real people narrators. Loved the character build and the plot.

The plot of the story

This would make a fantastic series on Prime! There's lots of action, surprises, and subterfuge! When is it coming out?

Also, we quickly adjusted to the computerized narration, but we much prefer human voices with different male and female accents.

This Should Be A Series on Prime

The story was good but the reading of it was poor. Inflection was not in the right place. No accent for Russian. No excitement when needed. Every Character sounded the same. I could go on and on.

Poor inflection by AI

The AI misses the inflections often enough to remind you that it’s AI reading it.

Good story

While I enjoyed the twist and turns and originality of the plot, the reader lacked intonation. For example, the text clearly said at one point the character has a southern drawl, however the reader’s voice never changed. It made it difficult at times to immerse yourself in the story because all the characters were voiced the same.

Decent Story Line, But Not Audio

This story was ok, the usual level of unbelievable thriller, think Le Carre via Indiana Jones. But Virtual Voice was very distracting and annoying and no substitute should be made for a human narrator who understands the complexity and nuance of language and emotion. This was my first and last try of this technology. Authors should heed this if they want their books to have the desired impact.

Virtual Voice is a poor imitation

I was curious to hear if AI could match the talent of a human reader. While AI might be able to narrate a story, it has no talent for dialog. The dialog sounds like 3rd grade read out load lesson. Please Audible, keep human talent.

AI not ready for "prime" time
