Suspenseful without being predictable

The Divine Devils kept me completely off my game as far as being able to predict what was around the corner and this was refreshing. One thing I will say, if you are one of those listeners/readers that looks to find fault in the tactical accuracy you will, but I'm not sure what a book like this is written for. Also the character development is much more engaging because even those characters that are just spotlighted have enough build up to want to see them more. Excited to read the next book in this series.

Action packed through out.

This book was not my normal genre but I am very glad I branched out, I was a little concerned at first that the number of characters introduced so quickly would be hard to keep up with. Fortunately the author did an amazing job at introducing them and giving you their story and weaving them together perfectly, So many twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat through out and even had my gasp out loud a few times once in a busy store as I was listening while grocery shopping. I am so glad I branched out of my normal read.

The narrator threw me at first.

When I began listening I almost didn't finish. The narrator just seemed flat and like he was trying to hard. I kept listening and the story started getting good so I ignored the narrator and concentrated on the story. I can't wait for the next in the series.

Action and suspense

After getting let go from the US Marshal service the main character Hunter Devine works with a group of individuals that have specific skills. Their job is to protect two children of a prominent family that someone is trying to kidnap. With an unsuspected twist toward then end. Lots of action. The story line was interesting to follow. At first the narrator was a bit hard to listen to because dialogue of the story did not have emotion. But there are many different characters that the narrator worked very well in different voices. This made up for the dryness of the rest of it. Good job to both the author and narrator.

This is a thrilling book

This book was awesome. The story was good and flowing. Suspense was held and had good pacing. The character voices were really well done. The story narration wasn’t my style to listen too but as the story picked up I didn’t “hear” it as much. Can’t wait to listen to the next one!

One Narrator Many Voices

How Phillip was able to make so many voices amazes me. The audio really brought The Divine Devils to life.

Good story line

The narrator sucks. Not enough or maybe of dramatic change in voices. Voice didn't really fit the story.
The plot did have you coming back to see what's going to happen. I love the culture incorporation. I would read another book in the series.

Really enjoyed This 1st Book in Series

I liked the Author's way of writing this story. Liked the characters development through out the book. This MC Devine is not bullet proof or always correct, but he persevers and gets the job done. I am starting the next book as soon as I post.y review.
Narrator does a very good job with the various characters voices and the entire storyline.

Amazing story and Great Narrator!

This story was action packed with some mystery and drama. I’m looking forward to more books by the author that may becoming available through audible. The narration performance was great and Phillip showed his versatility.
