Dream Bucket

I liked the narrator, he had a great southern voice. Mr. Lomakayu's voice reminded me of southern men when I was a child growing up in the south. The story had some sad parts so do all good books, that are about history of the south and hard times the people of that era lived and endured. I had a hard time not spending all my free time listening to this book - very entertaining. Really enjoyed the audio version.

Gritty family drama

I enjoyed the writing style of the author, plainly stated here and slyly painting word pictures there. I think this lady has listened to the hoot owls and bobcats in the woods and may miss them now.

A Most Enjoyable Listen!

Listening to this book made me feel like I was a member of the Cameron family facing the struggles and joys of living in the rural Deep South in the early 1900's.The author paints a vivid picture of life in a time long past. The narrator is perfect for this story. Altogether, a most enjoyable listen!

wonderful to listen to over and over

the narrator was one of my favorites! his voice was perfect for the story and distinguished the characters well. I listened a few times and now listen to it repeatedly to go to sleep, now that i know the story so well. very engaging and genuine picture of life as it must have been in early America!

LOVED the narration - Like listening to my Pappaw!

Would you listen to The Dream Bucket again? Why?

Absolutely! I have recommended it to all of my friends and family.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Dream Bucket?

This was a great story - so many good moments! Without giving any of the story away, I will share one of the memories I really identified with, which was the group of men who always gathered together. It gave the whole story such a good southern feeling

What about Clay Lomakayu’s performance did you like?

I loved how he sounded like my Pappaw, down to the whistling when he spoke. It was a super narration. I found myself immersed in the story, like I was right there living it! It would be great if all narrations provided this same kind of good sense of actually being in the story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was brought to tears when the house caught on fire, and the family was thrown into poverty.

Any additional comments?

Can't wait to hear how the next one in the series is narrated!

AMAZING!

What made the experience of listening to The Dream Bucket the most enjoyable?

I loved The Dream Bucket on my kindle. But to hear it narrated in a mellow Kentucky accent brought it to life. The narrator is outstanding. I felt as if I was sitting on the back porch and my grandfather was telling me a story. I've listened to audio books before and at times felt the narrator was cartoonish. Not so in this one.
Highly recommend. You wont be disappointed.

A good read

I found this book to be a very good read.

It was a great Christian story. Based on widows life experiences of losing her husband and raising a family.

The Triumph of Love

Any additional comments?

"The Dream Bucket" is a story of survival and overcoming hardships amidst tragic circumstances. It takes place in days of old, when pioneers worked hard and lived simpler lives close to the land. There were good times and bad. They celebrated the joys in life with laughter, community, and fellowship. Faith and hard work pulled them through the hard times, as did their friends and neighbors. In "The Dream Bucket," we meet Zoe, the main character. Due to a tragic fire, she loses her husband. Faced with widowhood as a single mother, she must find a way to rebuild their lives from scratch. Zoe finds strength that she never knew she had, as well as new love. This is a tale that will remind you that faith and love always triumph, and of the importance of good neighbors and community.
