About this listen

Seg returns from the Manor of Storms with a heavy burden of responsibility — a desert town to rebuild and a child to care for. Just as she sets to work, the Dry Princess arrives with death, sand, and a face from Seg’s past — Plumbess Sol, now going by the name Irrigator Solara.

Contracts break, and plans fall apart.

To move forward, Seg revisits the past — memory, history, and myth — then onward to the Dry Palace, to claim what is hers.

And the Dry Princess awaits.

I just love the cheeky humor in these books and the world building of Jude Fawley. These are great stories and so imaginative. I adore Plumbess Seg and listening to her adventures. Alison Campbell has a great voice and is a remarkable narrator.

This is something completely different and a very nice comic relief respite during these crazy times. I highly recommend checking out Jude Fawley's work. His writing reminds me of Douglas Adams, Jasper Fforde and Neil Gaiman.

Cheeky!

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

An odd off the beaten path sort of Fantasy world. You're not getting the sort of High Fantasy of a Tolkien or Sanderson, it's almost a fever dream kind of fantasy, where things exist because they should exist, and everything makes perfect sense in an odd way. It's a fantastic change of pace from most of the fantasy I listen to, and while I wouldn't listen to this style exclusively, it makes for a nice break. If you're looking for some fantasy that breaks out of the High Fantasy worlds of popular series give this a shot.

Really enjoying the bizarre world of this series
