About this listen

From USA Today best-selling author Sophie Jordan comes a scandalously sensual romance in her beloved Rogue Files series.

“Deliciously sexy!” (Sarah MacLean, New York Times best-selling author)

An urgent dilemma…

To save her impoverished family, Marian Langley will become a mistress. But she will not be just any mistress. Marian intends to become so skilled, so coveted, that she can set her own terms, retaining control over her body and her fate. Only one problem remains: finding a tutor...

A scandalous solution…

Other men deprive themselves of pleasure for propriety’s sake. Nathaniel, Duke of Warrington, would much rather be depraved. He slakes his desires with professionals who ask nothing of him but his coin. Marian’s proposal - that he train her without taking her virtue - is an intriguing diversion, until their lessons in seduction spin out of control.

And a most unlikely duchess…

When Marian is blackmailed into engagement by a man she despises, Nate impulsively steals her away. Though he never intended to take a wife, he can’t tolerate the idea of Marian forfeiting her freedom to another. But can he bear to give her what she demands - a real marriage?

Start here for the Langley sisters trilogy

Mrs. Ramsey, on learning to be a courtesan: “it’s quite simple really: find someone you can play with.”
Too true. And Marion and Nate played very well together indeed. This had the classic regency trope of the lady in dire straights throwing herself at the rich lord… only with a slight Pretty Woman twist as they both insisted it’s just business. Yep, here both of them doth protest too much and it makes for some very scintillating naughty bits.

“Why is it you are always in places you should not be?”
Marion, as with all the women in this series, was quite the ragamuffin, spirited outside but vulnerable and insecure on the inside. Thankfully, the shorter length of these books keeps these ladies from getting in their own way for too long. I did roll my eyes at how thick the poverty angle was laid down (and boy does the author love to use “penury”).

Sidenote:
This is listed as book 5, and appears to be the last, in the Rogue Files series,
but it actually features the first of three sisters.
The other two sisters’ books are on Audible, found thru searching by author or title.
The Duke’s Stolen Bride - featuring Marion Langley (this book)
The Virgin and the Rogue - featuring Charlotte Langley (not listed under the Rogue Files series)
The Duke Effect - featuring Nora Langley (also not listed under the Rogue Files series)

Upon 2nd reading, I really like this more 4 stara

This is quite racy and I hate the evil blacksmith and that whole adventure plot. But Nate and Marian are great and their smecksy scenes are full of passion and even some humor.

Such a fun, saucy couple!

The Duke’s Stolen Bride has been a great reprieve from the pandemic blues. Ms Jordan continues her series of The Rogue Files expertly weaving the story of Marianne and her Duke. Their fiery personalities blend with the absurdity of her convictions. Ms Jordan expertly developed these characters as they had to face their fears, expectations, and danger. A perfect recipe for love!

I loved this book and highly recommend it

This was exactly what I was looking for. A light romance that had heart and steam. I enjoyed both main characters and the steamy passionate scenes were good. I really enjoyed it.
The narrator was excellent !

Prepare to be on Fire

I started this series with Book 3 and was not impressed with the writing. Book 4 was better. However Book 5, The Duke's Stolen Bride was a home run. Ms. Jordan's writing and the story line for this book was superb. Faye Adele's narration took this already great book from 5 stars to 10 stars. She was perfect for both the Hero and Heroine as well as wildly erotic. Stayed up all night listening and then reread again the next day.

AUDIBLE EDITION!!

I WON A KINDLE EDITON OF "THE DUKES STOLEN BRIDE" FROM THE GOODREADS GIVEWAY!! BOUGHT AUDIBLE EDITION

Marian Langley is head of her family. Since her father, the village doctor died a year ago leaving them in poverty. She decides to become a courtesan and seeks out training on love making with the Nathaniel/Nate The Duke of Warrington. Marian's lesson turn hot and heavy and the two of them decide to take this further. But there is one person in the town who wants to marry Marian the disgusting stinky Mr. Lawrence. He finds out about the affair Marian is having with the Duke and blackmails her. She must marry him or he will ruin her. Well Nate is Not having it!!

This was an enjoyable fast pace story with delightful characters. The only thing I didn't like was the kidnapping and physical abuse at the end. Physical Abuse hitting and beating women is not necessary in a romance story on any level. The other thing I don't like is Spinster as the heroine. HR authors have run this in the ground. I am sick of Spinsters stories.
