Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author Sarah MacLean returns with a blazingly sexy, unapologetically feminist new series, Hell’s Belles, beginning with a bold, bombshell of a heroine, able to dispose of a scoundrel - or seduce one - in a single night.

After years of living as London’s brightest scandal, Lady Sesily Talbot has embraced the reputation and the freedom that comes with the title. No one looks twice when she lures a gentleman into the dark gardens beyond a Mayfair ballroom...and no one realizes those trysts are not what they seem.

No one, that is, but Caleb Calhoun, who has spent years trying not to notice his best friend’s beautiful, brash, brilliant sister. If you ask him, he’s been a saint about it, considering the way she looks at him...and the way she talks to him...and the way she’d felt in his arms during their one ill-advised kiss.

Except someone has to keep Sesily from tumbling into trouble during her dangerous late-night escapades, and maybe close proximity is exactly what Caleb needs to get this infuriating, outrageous woman out of his system. But now Caleb is the one in trouble, because he’s fast realizing that Sesily isn’t for forgetting...she’s forever. And forever isn’t something he can risk.

Sarah MacLean’s best

This story was so much fun. The dialog was brought to life by Mary Jane Wells whose performance was perfect. Beyond perfect! The banter between Sisley and Caleb was smart, funny, sexy. There were times I couldn’t stop laughing and others when I was so moved I couldn’t stop crying. This is the best Sarah MacLean yet. I cannot wait for the next book. I highly recommend this be listened to instead of read. But for sure do not miss it.

Great start

Very enjoyable story. I love Sarah Maclean and MJW. Terrific combo. The story of a group of women taking a stance for right...if you will...is a wonderful idea. I have loved Sesily since the first novels and have longed for her story. I knew there also had to be more to Caleb's background than we knew. I recommend.

Read A Day of the Duchess first

I really enjoyed this book but when I realized that Sesily and her sisters had appeared in previous series, I went back to have a listen. At the very least, I wish I had listened to Seraphina and Malcom’s story first. It is where Sesily and Caleb meet for the first time so you better understand their attraction to each other.

Nice, easy listen

Nice, easy listen. Reader is again wonderful and I look for books read by her. Nothing surprising in the plot but we’ll done.

Light mystery, heavy romance

Love this series. There is just enough mystery to pull the story forward and more than enough romance to make you feel like you’re listening to something forbidden at work.

Mary Jane Wells

The actual story was pretty good, but very frustrating at times. I grew tired of the hero and his need to protect everyone at all costs and the complications that caused the heroine and everyone else, but since that was a major plot point and character trait I understood. Mary Jane Wells once again proved why she’s one of my favorite narrators and absolutely made this audiobook. Even when I thought about skipping parts or giving up at one point, her performance kept me going and enjoying. If she’s the narrator for the entire series, then count me in, especially since I love all the women in the ensemble. To give the author her due, some of the dialogue was excellent and had me laughing out loud.
