Publisher's summary

Sold to a powerful immortal, Cera has accepted that her fate will be to share his bed and bear his heirs. High Lord Isael Eshval is as cold as he is beautiful, but he does promise Cera her freedom if she serves him.

A twist of fate will change them both, binding them together in ways neither of them could have anticipated. As secrets pile up between them, Cera begins to doubt Isael will ever let her go. And the more she comes to know him, the less she wants to be free.

Not bad, just too short

Having already read the first three volumes as I write this review, I'd say it's a decent story with a lot of potential. It's more fantasy drama than anything as there are no antagonists to flesh out this tale. I can see that the story is elegantly building up to something, however nothing is delivered. That said, I think this story is far too short. So far, everything I've read could've been condensed into one book but it's broken up into smaller chunks for no apparent reason. Each volume seems to end at a random turning point in a slow plot that could've easily just been another chapter. This series is a decent read and a blatant money-sink that may or may not deliver satisfying results in a future installment. If you have the credits to burn, then go for it, but if you're looking for a solid fantasy novel with a beginning, a middle, some good guys, and a few bad guys, I'd search elsewhere. The voice actors are wonderful.
