Publisher's summary

To Those who Appreciate Wisteria and Sunshine. Small medieaval Italian Castle on the shores of the Mediterranean to be Let Furnished for the month of April. This small advertisement sparks something long dormant in the reluctant hearts of two downcast London women - the possibility of happiness.

Meet Mrs. Wilkins and Mrs. Arbuthnot. Both are churchgoers, and very good, dutiful wives - they do everything that is expected of them. And they are both incredibly unhappy. Through this elegant novel, we see them work through their disparate struggles and rise from the ashes, with the help of wisteria and sunshine.

A lovely book

One of my favorite books. A terrific movie.
The only thing wrong was the annoying habit of the reader to constantly mispronounce words, e.g. Genoa. He accented the 2nd syllable on some occasions and the 1st syllable on other occasions!
But the book evokes the beauty of Italy wonderfully.

It’s all about how you see things....

This book is well worth reading in that each character is dramatically changed by being open to seeing their lives in the very different light of sunny Italy, after leaving England. #Friends, #Inspiring, #FemaleProtagonist, #FeelGood, #Italy, #Tagsgiving, #Sweepstakes

The Enchanted April is such great news

Harrison's well sketched characters' dreams come true in believable ways.
Social cross-currents lace the story with a canny perception and wit.
The prose captures us in aromatic description of this floral Mediterranean hideaway. You actually go on a vacation! Narrator's voice is calming and we'll paced.
