About this listen

The War of 1812 continues, and Jack Aubrey sets course for Cape Horn on a mission after his own heart: intercepting a powerful American frigate outward bound to play havoc with the British whaling trade. Stephen Maturin has fish of his own to fry in the world of secret intelligence. Disaster in various guises awaits them in the Great South Sea and in the far reaches of the Pacific: typhoons, castaways, shipwrecks, murder, and criminal insanity. This is the tenth in O'Brian's 20-volume Aubrey/Maturin series.Don't miss the rest of the Aubrey/Maturin series.©1984 Patrick O'Brian (P)2000 Random House, Inc. Critic reviews

"The best historical novels ever written." (The New York Times Book Review)
"No writer alive can move one as O'Brian can; no one can make you laugh so loud with hilarity, whiten your knuckles with unbearable tension or choke with emotion. He is the master." (Irish Times)

it's sad that Audible doesn't have this book narrated by Patrick Tull. if it's not narrated by Tull, it's not Aubrey/Maturin.

Narrator should be in another line of work

I may be prejudiced but Tull is the better orator for these books for myself I will try to find them with his narration
