Each story was unique and well written. Some I liked more than others, but that’s a given. I still enjoyed them all. Some were far out there, some portrayed hope, some had an underlying moral, and others were fun. It’s a mix of inspirational, sci-fi, fantasy and mythological stories. The story ‘The Fat Man Gets Out of Bed’ and the one where the mother is dying are the ones I remember most. Likely the best of the group.
This is the seventh book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( David Bosco ). He has a great pace to his narration and a good variety of voices he uses to differentiate the characters in each story. He definitely performs rather than reads the book.
There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or swearing.

Creative, enjoyable stories

However, each was unique and while I enjoyed some more than others I give this collection a five because I could never, not once, predict which way things were going to go, and I admire that in a writer.
David Bosco's narration was on point every step of the way. His voices were varied and his main narration was comforting and solid.
Really enjoyable. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Overall This is an interesting collection of stories. My favourite story was the first one about hands. Although it was sad, it left me feeling hopeful. My least favourite was the second story, the main character was a God, but he flew in planes and needed pain killers. It was kind of funny, but i wasn't sure if it was meant to be funny. lol.
I really enjoy the narrator's work, and he did a great job as usual.

Excellent collection of not so short, short stories.
The line ‘he got out of bed’ put a huge smile on my face. I didn’t know I’d like the stories as much as I did.
You have some religion, some science fiction, some greek gods, and a big more all in this collection. Something for everyone.
Narration was excellent and I will be looking for more books narrated by David Bosco.

Eclectic stories from the mind of an edgy writer!

The narration of this book is superb, but that is something I've come to expect from David Bosco. That said, this was a really odd collection of short stories. They were kind of all over the place when it comes to genre. Apart from the one author, there was no commonality or theme between them. Don't get me wrong, most were pretty good (obviously I enjoyed some more than others), but it left me filling mixed emotions about the overall experience. Some were funny, some heartwrenching, some chocked full of tension. It just left me with so many different feelings I'm having trouble parsing them and deciding on how to rate it. I ended up just focusing on each individual story and averaging what I would rate them.

My criticism about the collection was the juxtaposition of these stories. Not just once but several times, I was taken from a mostly realistic tear-jerker story to a bizarre sci fi one. The transition was jarring. I solved this problem eventually by only listening to one story at a time, stopping playback, and picking it up again the next day.
The narrator was excellent in general - good emotion, good character distinction - a very good listening experience. One point though: many times (OK, virtually always) his "s" sound was more like a "sh" sound. Eventually I was able to ignore this but it certainly was distracting for me at first.
