Publisher's summary

When the curtain falls, the show is over. Unfortunately, it was opening night, and when it fell, it was definitely over for Angel Bridges!

Affairs and jealousy, not to mention old resentments, are all good motives for murder. But just which one brought the curtain down on Angel?

Join old friends from the Seattle area - DeeDee, owner of Deelish Catering; her husband, Jake, a private investigator; Cassie, a food critic for the leading Seattle newspaper; and her husband, Al, a reformed Mafioso with a sometimes questionable way of handling things, as they search for the murderer.

Dogs, recipes, and the ambiance of the Pacific Northwest come together in this, the eleventh book of the Northwest Cozy Mystery Series from a two-time USA Today best-selling author.

Opera and Food Cozy Murder Mystery

This is a really good cozy mystery with an interesting cast of characters! Screen actor Angel Bridges takes a side venture to sing on stage in an opera. Following her opening night performance, she is found dead at a celebratory dinner. The dinner is catered by Deelish Catering. Dee Dee, the owner and caterer, becomes embroiled in trying to discover who murdered Angel.

Author Dianne Harman spins a good tale. Multiple suspects have possible motives. The identity of the murderer will keep listeners guessing. Narrator Kasey Logan does a great job performing the voices of the characters.

Delicious sounding recipes are included at the end of this audiobook.

Enjoyable cozy mystery

I enjoyed listening to this installment of the Northwest Mystery Series. Dianne Harman writes great cozy mysteries. I think Kasey Logan is a great narrator, and did a fantastic job with the different characters. I’m ready for book 12.

Enjoyed

Murder was not to be the final act in the play the director wrote and then to be accused of murder. Catering the event Dee Dee and Cassie to prove who did it. Good story and with good narration added to the story

I was very disappointed

Out of all the Diane Harman books I have read, I have never been so disappointed.

DeeDee & Cassie run a catering business. An opera star was murdered at an event they were catering. DeeDee accepts to take the case to clear the director, Tobias Prank. Jake, her husband and a private investigator tells her he can help part time.
I thought this series would be interesting after reading installment number 10 but, this story was not even remotely believable. DeeDee has no business trying to solve this case. She is extremely rude and petty.

I had a hard time believing that Jake, the P.I. and Al, could put up with the meddling of their wives. These caterers didn’t have a clue as to what they were doing nor did I find this entertaining. I own books 1 through 13 but can assure you, this series is now at the bottom of my to be read list.

I was routing for anyone to end this story. I found it a painful listen but this was not due to the narrator.
This was a blatant smear on the local police force.

I was shocked about the discussion to charge expensive lunches for 4 & opera tickets to the client. The client hired them to work not enjoy themselves at his expense. DeeDee’s continual remarks to putting it on her expense account was just over the top. I wouldn’t want to hire this group.
