About this listen

The first Saturday in July....

A missing coed....

The number seven carved into her door....

The countdown has begun.

THE FINAL SEVEN

New Orleans Detective Micki Dee Dare is a seasoned, no-nonsense cop. She doesn't need a partner, especially not Zach "Hollywood" Harris, an irreverent charmer, fresh out of an experimental FBI program. And her assignment - keep him alive while he fights crime using the special skills he brings to the table - is not what she signed up for. But the die has been cast and there's nothing she can do about it.

Micki soon realizes there's more to her partner than meets the eye - and more at stake than catching bad guys and closing cases. There's a new kind of evil at work the Crescent City, more cunning, more powerful than any she's ever encountered. And she and Zach may be the only ones who can stop it.

As another coed goes missing and the darkness closes in, Micki must face a terrifying truth: this time she might not make it. This time the evil they're facing might destroy them all....

Full of surprise twists and unexpected turns, The Final Seven is a heart-pounding thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last minute.

Ok book and semi-terrible narration..

Ok, so this is a fairly good book BUT at not even at 50% and our hero had already puked twice. I was hoping THAT wouldn’t continue, eeww.

It was a paranormal story and that was a good thing. Zach and Micki were teamed together in the NOPD. He was called a Sixer because of his paranormal abilities and she was a non-believer in his mumbo-jumbo, which she soon began to believe in. THEN the un-believable came about and she had a hard time with that; they were not looking for a “somebody” that had kidnapped two girls but “something.”

I wasn’t all that crazy about Micki. Yeah, she was a strong and kick-butt heroine BUT she was such a biotchy smarta*#, ALL the time. Every time she opened her mouth she was raising some kind of heck at Zach for some reason. It became real tiring.

I did like the secondary characters: Angel, Jacqui, Parker, Eli, and Truebell.

There was nothing that even resembled romance in this book so if that’s what you’re looking for keep looking.

The F-bomb was used 15 times.

As to the narration: Tavia Gilbert is usually one of my favorite narrators but in this book she was barely OK. She read with some emotions then no emotions, then her men sounded a little masculine then NOT. She wasn’t horrible but she wasn’t all that good either.

Nice start to a paranormal action series!

I found it thoroughly engaging and was lucky enough to be able listen almost straight through.

Beat Supernatural Concept Yet

There were times I had to remind myself it was fictional. Is it possible? Maybe!

Story is just not for me. Great Narration!

Okay so this was kind of a stupid story that went on too long before you got to anything exciting decent or explanatory. The sixers, what are they? Yep, still kind of confused about that.

I did like Zach a lot, he was charming. Micki was okay but annoying at times. There is really no romance in this book. Attraction but that's about it.

The storyline and plot were pretty lame. This did not keep my interest nor did it entertain me at all. I was very glad when it ended because it was a struggle to finish.

As for the narration, it was very good. I am a Tavia Gilbert fan so I really enjoyed it.

Disappointing

The performance is interesting and the use of multiple “voices” helped me keep up with the characters.
The story is entertaining and beautifully written. So much so that I was able to get over the constant issues with women losing will power due to a male characters special glare. However the second to last chapters bomb made me but down the book entirely. It was unnecessary and as always unimaginative and a great way to remind women that we owe everything (our character, strengths, and weaknesses) to men.

Final Seven

This narration is horrible. I've read books from Erica Spindler. All have been good books.

This one is not a good one. I stopped reading!

Painful

The worst narration I have ever heard! I want my credit back. Could not finish.

Normally love Erica Spindler, but ....

This story is so different from any other Erica Spindler book I have read or listened to. I have been an Erica Spindler fan since the 1990s, during her romance stage and when she started the romantic suspense genre. I absolutely love her thrillers. However, I notice my decline in enjoying her books for the past 5 years or so. I am sure it is just me, as my tastes change, but I just could not get into this book at all. It was a DNF (do not finish) for me, the first time ever with an Erica Spindler book.

I am not sure why I could not get into the book. It just seemed different from Spindler's writing style. I had no issues with the narrator as Tavia Gilbert is one of my favorites and I have listened to many mysteries and thrillers narrated by her.
