About this listen

'Farewell, Great Macedon': The TARDIS materialises in the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World, in the year 323 BC. The Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Susan meet Alexander the Great - but their excitement is tempered by the realization that these are the final days of Alexander's life. As the travellers become embroiled in the tragic events, the inevitability of history unfolds around them. But can they - and should they - change it?

'The Fragile Yellow Arc of Fragrance': Fragrance is a paradise world - a utopia that the travellers are loathe to leave after a relaxing stay. But the way of life is different here. And so is the way of love - as Barbara discovers when the Fragile Yellow Arc is broken....

Emotional

Simply loved it, it was emotional but enjoyable all the same, you can imagine how it would look like if it got in the show.

I must say, after watching Doctor who {20/1th century version) I got curious to watch the classic after finding out that there was a series before.
To be honest I haven't come further than season two because I can't seem to say goodbye to Barbara and Ian.
So I'm glad to hear that there are audios with more adventures with them.

Amazing!

farewell, great Macedon was an incredible story! They really should’ve made that into episodes! It made learning history interesting! The fragile yellow arc of fragrance wasn’t my type of story. I can see why that story wasn’t made into an episode. It felt extremely rushed. I think they should’ve really made the story go on longer. Also, they should’ve made the adventure have to do with something besides a race killing themselves when their loved ones die. overall, I loved the first doctor box set because of the first great story it Has! The second story while bad in my opinion did not detract from the greatness of the first!

A fascinating look at what could have been.

These two unused stories from the 1963-64 season of Doctor Who, are fun jaunts into an alternative historical adventure and a sci-fi adventure that could have been, but were lost to history until now. The second story is especially unusual for the period in its construction. well worth hearing!
