Holy Hell. Action pact storyline.

The second in the series did not disappoint but jeez so many emotions. I am in awe of the author for creating this series. So many storylines going on and amazing characters. The dynamics of Tarquin and Sharp makes me root for them over and over. Two different worlds but drawn by love. Sharp, strong and vulnerable and Tarquin, shy and vulnerable. They really are so alike. I love their romance and hope it goes strong into book three. I loved Kav and Kuma being brought in and the relationship of the three and then how they all accepted the Mercada. I absolutely despised Fletcher and hated his obsession with Sharp and his jealousy of Tarquin. I am sure my blood pressure was high when he was in the picture.
I am so happy that I listened to this book because it was so complex and I think it was easier for me to obtain what was going on than if I was to read it.
What will the future hold for Sharp and Tarquin on the 7th Cradle? Happiness, hopefully, and their home.

Great story

This is a great story and the narrator is perfect for this book. The book was very hard to put down. The use of them/they pronouns is distracting and doesn’t work in writing or anything else. It’s confusing to refer to one person as them or they and disrupts the listening experience. People can be what they want to be but it doesn’t need to be in our face with every other character in the book. It doesn’t contribute to the overall storyline and only tries to normalize this nonsense which is why I gave it three stars.

Narration was excellent

The author would do well to drop the virtue-signaling misuse of plural pronouns. It serves no purpose in the story. Stop pandering to the .01% please.

it's ok!!

First the narration: Narration is great. Well read, and enjoyable to listen to
Second the story: Story is good, but long winded. Some scenes are dragged on and on and get boring. I found myself fast forwarding through some parts. The villain is also way over the top, and keeps coming back, repeating the same villainies over and over again...gets boring real fast...
so, will I listen to the third book? yes
Do I recommend this one? Ehh!

What a story, amazing

This is one of the best sequels I’ve had the pleasure to read. The story grips you from beginning to end, and I’m honestly a little sad that it’s over. I’m looking forward to the next book!

Exciting conclusion to the series!

Exciting conclusion to the series. I feel like I got to know the characters better in this second book. The pronoun usage is progressive and the science fiction tech applications are interesting. 😀

Great continuation of the story, narrator continues to crush

First of all, I have to call out the narrator. He has to be one of the best I’ve ever heard. For a book with such a large cast of characters, the performance literally helped me keep track of who was who.

O’Keefe’s prose continues to be lovely, descriptive, and easy to follow. The plot doesn’t slow.

I didn’t love this as much as I loved The Blighted Stars, but this still is one of my top books I’ve read.

Too much packed in this book

I feel like this book would’ve been better fleshed out in two books. There was so much I feel was skimmed over in the descriptions and explanations.

Keeps you constantly engaged!

This is the second book of three and I can’t get enough. All the plot twists and smart creativity is absolutely enthralling. The reading artist does an amazing job. Bravo to both the author and the performer!
