Beautifully written but ill performed

I wanted to be more interested but found myself zoning out and having to rewind. There were a few words pronounced incorrectly that were resounding. Doose’s market for example. I’m not saying it was disappointing but I don’t think the narrator had ever seen the show and was just reading a book with no excitement.

Could a less hip person be the reader?

I feel like I’m listening to my grandpa dish about the Gilmore Girls. It’s tolerable, other than the fact that he can’t pronounce a main character’s name. Taylor “Deuce” “Deuce’s” Market. Terrible.

Huge part of the book is lines from the show

I already saw the show so I didn’t want to listen to so many random lines from the show- seems like a lot of filler with actual good info scattered in

Pretty clear the narrator never watched the show

I loved all the background information in this book, but it drove me crazy that the narrator clearly had no understanding of or love for the show. The names mispronounced (Doose's??) were like nails on a chalkboard, and seriously, do they think anyone listening to this was NOT a Gilmore fan?? They should have done their homework, and I have to say, since the two main characters were both women, and it was a story of their relationship, I think it would have been nicer to have a woman read the audiobook.

A Fantastic Companion to the Great Series!!!

I gave only 1 star for the performance because this is the second book I bought about The Gilmore Girls that is narrated by a man. Maybe it is just me, but after 8 seasons of great, witty banter pouring forth from these brilliant women, maybe we should have a woman read the books about the show?!?! So please, take in to account that my 1 star slap is for not choosing women to read these books.

That said, The Gilmore Girls Companion is an episode by episode breakdown of the show, its main points, main backstories, etc.

I did not watch Gilmore Girls while it was initially on the air, but as a witty writer and lover of great writing, had heard about them again and again. With the gift that is Netflix, my wife, son, and I all got to discover what all the chatter was about. This show and The West Wing are by far the best written shows to have graced tv screens. (How I Met Your Mother brings up 3rd place if you are keeping a scorecard).

WOW did we fall in love with and binge this show, again and again!!!!! And then we were blessed to experience season 8 with the rest of the world... though, guys, come on, less make-up on Lauren Graham if there is a season 9.... the woman is beautiful and you made her look like she was made of plaster.

Loved this and Coffee At Lukes and both should have been read by women.

Please, Netflix Gods, let us see that season 9 that was so blessedly teased with those two final words.

if you can stand mispronouncing words...

I thought the narrator's voice was akin to Casey Kasem. However, this is too strong of a fan base to mispronounce named of beloved characters. other than that I thought it was a lovely companion book to a series I have never stopped watching.

Don't buy the Audiobook!!!

I wish I had listened to the reviews about the narrator. This was truly hard to stomach, although I would imagine the physical book is pretty good. Most of the book is dialog, and it didn't really have enough new information to be worth it for me.

Don’t buy!

This is so scattered and hard to follow....it’s everywhere! Perhaps it’s easier to read. Narrator doesn’t even pronounce names of characters and actors correctly!

Buyer beware

As a true Gilmore Girl fan this book was annoying as they pronounced Taylor’s last name wrong and many other mispronouncing moments. This book really didn’t add anything to my love of the show. I would rather rewatch the show then have someone retell the story and say the wrong names. Little details made this book unenjoyable and random repeated pages in the recording.
