I decided to start “The Girl in the Woods” using virtual voice and was disappointed. I chose this book because of Lorna Dounaeva, an author I am familiar with, but my experience was mixed. While the story itself was engaging and well-written, with plenty of secrets, twists and a healthy dose of creepiness, I was disappointed with the virtual voice narration. The plot follows Noel and his partner as they adopt a young girl named Orchid, only to discover that she may be more than they bargained for. I recommend this author (narrator a must, no virtual voice) to fans of psychological thrillers. My first and last virtual voice audiobook.

With two hours left, I jumped to the end… shame because the story was suspenseful…
