About this listen

The Bookworm Box is proud to present Two More Days, our second anthology installment. Much like the first installment, Two More Days is an exciting and unique listening experience with contributions from several of our charity's featured authors. Each author was given the same first sentence. Where they took that sentence was completely up to them.

Every story is different. No story is related.

The only thing these stories have in common is their starting point. Each author showcased in this anthology was featured in The Bookworm Box in 2020.

Contributing authors: Alessandra Torre, Chanda Hahn, Charleigh Rose, Dominique Laura, Eric R. Asher, Ilsa Madden-Mills, Jennifer Wilson, Jessica Hawkins, Jewel E. Ann, K. Pros and cons

Some of the stories were great. Others I had to skip. There’s a lot of sexual deviance throughout the book. A LOT. The narrators were mostly good. I had a hard time listening to the young narrator who was sometimes choppy in her delivery. And it was just hard to hear what sounded like a young voice, narrating sex scenes. I didn’t love the hypernasal narrator either. But there were some really sweet stories if you could get past all the sex scenes. :)

unique stories? as if!

My 1st admission is I went into this completely blind, I had no idea what to expect from this anthology except that every story had the same 1st line and each author had their own creative way with it.

Let me take a step back and praface with I'm usually not into romance, it makes my eyes roll out of my head. sometimes I'm surprised and a romance gets me but usually? um no

Ok, so my 2nd admission is that I skipped through 3 stories, maybe 4? because out of 30 stories at least 75% of them were about the same exact thing... "I love my best friend but I'm afraid to tell them or they're about to get married" blah blah blah. There was a point I almost DNF the entire thing and rating it a 2 because it was so excessive.

Now the good news... there are some genuinely good short stories here. Yes, they may be the minority but they carry the anthology out of the "I just wasted 20 hours of me life" zone. And I'll admit, there were a select few romances that played out really well and Colleen Hoover really pulled it out in the end, Solid finish, Colleen.

This was only okay…

Some stories were really good and some were really…not. Some stories just seemed to cut off quickly like they didn’t know how to end it and didn’t wrap up the story.

It’s hard to keep all the characters straight.

It’s hard to keep all the characters straight. Way too many to keep up with for me.

Great book filled with the Colleen Hoover feel.

This book is a compilation of short stories. Most of them I liked, some of them I didn’t really care too much for. Some of them I played a few times over because I loved them so much, such as ‘breaking the rules’. It’s a long listen but it was fun to have a story a day and not knowing what you’ll get. Totally worth it.

Exhausting

Same base story over and over, best friends in love. Changes names, places, then repeat, etc…..

Interesting

This was an interesting anthology, each story started with the same line, Some were better than others, some left you wanting more, some were the start/previews to stories. There are some great authors and it was fun to see where each one took the phrase, Narration was done well,

Genres clash

At my inception of Two More Days, I was intrigued with couples & groups of people’s encounters short stories. I was dismayed when vampires & fictitious creatures’ stories were in the mix, I bypassed several such two day creature stories, a genre that I dislike.

Interesting Mix

I love the premise that all the stories have the same phrase. Some stories are better than others but octal a good read.
