About this listen

'An unputdownable, tense, fast-paced, terrifying plot that deftly twists and turns' Danielle Ramsay

Be careful what you wish for…

Mum passed recently. It was sudden and unexpected. On the cusp of adulthood, my twin sister, Skye and I are left with decisions to make that will change our lives forever.

As identical twins, we’d normally stick together like glue, but anger and grief gets the better of us and we push and pull in different directions.

Skye wants us to desert our broken family for university. While I want us to postpone our university entry and huddle together at home with our grief-stricken dad and our younger sister, Jade; try to heal our broken hearts and learn to live without our mother.

At an impasse, each of us stubbornly gets our wish.

Finding myself alone and without the other half of me, I’m desperately lonely.

I need a friend.
Someone to talk to.
Someone who understands.

But when I find that special someone, I know I’ve made a terrible mistake and trusted the wrong person.

Have I put us all in danger?

Bestselling author Diane Saxon’s utterly compelling thriller is perfect for fans of Freida McFadden and Ruth Ware.

Near the beginning of this book there is a phone call regarding a woman who disappeared seven years ago, the phone is answered by the missing woman’s twin who decides against informing the police. This stupidity continues and grows throughout the book. I really dislike books that portray women as totally incompetent and dumb. I felt like I was watching a horror film where the audience is screaming “don’t go down the basement” as a woman descends a dark staircase.

Another great book by Diane Saxon! Pulls you into the story from the very first chapter, and keeps you intrigued the whole time.

Couldn’t stop listening!

The story is not a new one but that seems to be the way, anymore. This remake of a hundred other similar stories goes on and on in sections until I couldn't help but fast forward. Look elsewhere.

I loved everything about this book
Lovely, engaging, interesting and sympathetic characters.
Great storyline about a lovely family and a missing twin. A terrific story of persistence and hope and never giving up.
The narration was spot on. My only criticism would be in the title. It makes it sound as if one twin is good and one not so good.
The title does not at all fit the story, otherwise, I heartily recommend this book.
I’ve listened to 20 this month and this is only one of two that I would recommend.

Finally a really, really good story

Reason I was able to guess the villain early on and was glad to have my guess confirmed. A lot of pain and sadness but I thought the ending was good. Loved the connection between the twins.

For some
