Publisher's summary
The Great Controversy is the story of how the forces of good triumph over the forces of evil. The story picks up with the destruction of Jerusalem and continues down the ages to the present. It is a story of truth and how it was lost by many, but not all then gradually rediscovered by the broader Christian community through the Reformation. It climaxes with the eschaton and delineates how we in the present can navigate the final moments of earth's history.

Story
There is in the religious world a theory of sanctification that is false in itself and dangerous in its influence. In many cases those who profess sanctification do not possess the genuine article. Their sanctification consists in talk and will worship. Those who are really seeking to perfect Christian character will never indulge the thought that they are sinless. Their lives may be irreproachable, but the more they discipline their minds to dwell upon the character of Christ, the more clearly will they discern its spotless perfection.

Drawing from decades of study, Dr. Jeremiah explains every key sign of the approaching apocalypse and what it means for you, including international, cultural, heavenly, tribulation, and end signs. With his engaging writing style and clear analysis of how current world events were foretold in the Bible, The Book of Signs is an encouraging guide to the Book of Revelation.

Story
Published in 1651, Leviathan is considered to be one of the most important works of political philosophy and a major contribution to the modern idea of central government. In the mid-17th century, England was going through a turbulent time of change and unrest, which likely shaped Hobbes' ideas on strong government. Thomas Hobbes established the social contract theory. He believed that self-government did not create the ideal state due to the human tendency to be self-serving, something he believed would eventually lead to chaos.

Story
Written between A.D. 413 and 426, The City of God is one of the great cornerstones in the history of Christian thought, a book which is vital to the understanding of modern Western society. Augustine originally intended it to be an apology for Christianity against the accusation that the Church was responsible for the decline of the Roman Empire, which had occurred just three years earlier. Indeed, Augustine produced a great amount of evidence to prove that paganism was responsible for this event. However, by the time the work was finished, the book had taken on a larger theme.

The leviathan is the vast unity of the State. But how are unity, peace, and security to be attained? Hobbes’ answer is sovereignty, but the resurgence of interest today in Leviathan is due less to its answers than its methods: Hobbes sees politics as a science capable of the same axiomatic approach as geometry.

Story
In The Mortification of Sin, Owen states not only that sin remains an active and negative force on the lives of Christians, but also that there is a highly effective way to combat that evil force and temptation along with it. Largely addressing Romans 8, this work extracts understanding and brings clarity to the listener on these widely discussed topics. Despite such a potentially disheartening revelation of the impact and influence of sin, Owen reminds the listener of the triumph of Christ.

Powerful message. Bible-based and clear.
This book never ceases to amaze me. I've read it several times, but learn something new each time. It was first published over 100 years ago, but could have been written last year. Still relevant and revealing, this book unmasks so much of what is really going on in politics and religion around the world. Definitely to be recommended.

Great reading. Phenomenal book.
The great controversy world view has so much to offer in daily life. As a historical summary it serves as a springboard to study fascinating aspects of Christian and world history. As a spiritual text it offers clear insight into Bible truth and a greater understanding of God's character. Taken together as a historical religious book, the reader can't help but feel the urge to take a greater role in the great controversy.

I enjoy anything BC reads, but this is a very important book. I have listened to others, but BC has made it live so I can enjoy the message. Thank you so much, BC!
