About this listen

Steve Saint was five years old when his father, missionary pilot Nate Saint, was speared to death by a primitive Ecuadorian tribe. In adulthood, Steve, having left Ecuador for a successful business career in the United States, never imagined making the jungle his home again. But when that same tribe asks him to help them, Steve, his wife, and their teenage children move back to the jungle. There, Steve learns long-buried secrets about his father's murder, confronts difficult choices, and finds himself caught between two worlds.

Soon to be a major motion picture, End of the Spear brilliantly chronicles the continuing story that first captured the world's attention in the best-selling book, Through Gates of Splendor.

Beyond what I expected

This book finishes where Elizabeth Elliot left off. Amazing to hear God's story! Blessed, and challenged, me beyond my expectations.

Better than expected.

It’s an interesting store. Even if you are not a believer of God this novel is still yet intriguing.
The End of The Spear is filled with moments of laughter and sorrow while still all being captivating and enthralling. It’s definitely a must read.

A book EVERYONE will enjoy! Don’t miss this one!

I had heard of the story of the deaths of the missionaries but truly didn’t know the story. The history of those events are tragic but this book gives you the REST of the story which is mind-blowing! No matter what you believe about God and faith, you will fall in love with these sweet Amazon folks from Ecuador. I hope you will “see it very well” to listen to this book. Narration is excellent. I only wish I could find another book for a continuation on the lives of all these folks.

One of my favorite books

I was privileged to be able to visit the tribe in 2006, and then meet Mincaye again in the states afterwards. He was a beloved saint. So incredibly joyful and loving. He trusted God with all his heart. I so look forward to seeing him again soon.

I really enjoyed listening to Shadow of the Almighty, followed by Through Gates of Splendor (both by Elisabeth Elliot), then listening to this book. It paints a chronological picture of God giving the five missionaries and their families a heart for these people, how he orchestrated the events to initiate contact with the tribe, which resulted in their untimely deaths. Then this book picks up years later, where we get to see the fruit of those seeds, and the love these dear people now have for the Lord and for others. That fruit has reached far beyond the tribe itself. This story is so amazing. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You won't be disappointed.
