About this listen

Everyone assumes that Zee is a lesbian. Her classmates, her gym buddies, even her so-called best friend. Even Zee is starting to wonder. Could they be on to something?

Everyone assumes that Art is gay. They take one look at his nice clothes and his pretty face and think: well, obviously.

But there's more to Zee and Art than anyone realizes. What develops is a powerful connection between two people who are beautiful in all the ways they've been told are strange. As they explore their own complex relationships to gender, sexuality, and identity, they fall for the complexities they find in each other. With his trademark frankness, B. T. Gottfred delves inside both characters' heads in this story about love and living authentically.

I absolutely loved this! This story is so captivating. I’m sad it had to end.

Loved the Author, the story and the performance.

The level of effort they gave the story and the narration is amazing and comforting. Love the author's writing and the level of care it emulates.

Just WOW!

I have fallen head over heels in LOVE with this author's writing! This book kept me hooked from beginning to end much the same as his book "The Nerdy and the Dirty". He needs to write more NOW!

Absolutely loved it

I met the author at the LA book festival recently, and I told him I wasn’t his target audience. (I’m a middle aged wife and mother of two with an accounting career.) He responded that everyone’s his target audience. Maybe that’s true because I loved everything about his amazing book.

I enjoyed listening about the intersection of sexuality, gender, and identity from two lovable fictional characters. Art constantly made me laugh, and the story was so engaging that I listened every chance I got. Even though the main characters are teenagers, this book made me think about my own identity, my marriage, and parenthood. This is the kind of story that stays with you and makes you laugh and think and even appreciate humanity a little more.

I can’t wait to read BT’s next book.

Tedious children's book.

Ridiculous narration and boring writing. So cliche. I will be returning this as I couldn't bear to listen to any more.
