About this listen

Maddie Dehler demonstrated one of the most remarkable survival escapes in history. Still, horror returns again and again to the same county in rural Minnesota, and eventually to the home Julia Adams built. The cases go cold until BCA investigator, Jon Frederick, is called in to find a common thread to a series of crimes that appear unrelated.

Jon's relationship with Serena is put to the test by an old friend. Serena makes a mistake with profound costs. Jon, despite his aversion to hauntings and strains on his personal life, finds his way through the fog to solve the case.

Based on a true case that eluded resolution for years.

Weber’s attention to detail helps you feel as though you are tagging along with the characters. His style has a touch of Michael Crichton. (My favorite author)

The narrators definitely bring this book to life. Again, helping you feel as though you are experiencing things first hand.

Weber’s best work so far.

Very well written and I love the perspective the author gives. Excellent storyline. I was interested and engaged the entire time. The book shows the knowledge the author has of narcissistic personalities and makes me respect him even more. Not everyone understands the complexity of narcissistic personalities, their behaviors, their thought processes, or the devastation they can cause to the lives of others. I’d love to see a new book series involving the life of a narcissist, their behaviors in relationships, how they use coercive control and other means to control their victims, and the dysfunctional thought processes and perceptions they have. It’s baffling to know the skewed perceptions the narcissist has of the world around them.

Loved it!!!
