About this listen

The last thing he wants is to hunt a dangerous fugitive in the Alaskan wilderness, especially with a tough, stubborn US marshal.

Parker Conroy moved to Alaska to be alone. His military career in Ghost Ops ended with an explosion and three torturous weeks of captivity. It’s left him scarred, wanting to avoid people, and hating being touched.

When US Marshal Jenna Sheriden knocks on his door, he has no time for the attractive marshal. But she isn’t taking no for an answer.

A dangerous fugitive is on the loose, and he happens to be a rogue Ghost Ops soldier.

Jenna Sheriden lives and breathes being a marshal. Her past has left her with something to prove. She has zero interest in love, relationships, or anything that slows her down.

She needs help hunting a deadly murderer. She needs Parker Conroy.

The gruff, lean loner radiates a dark intensity she can’t ignore, but he has the skills to help her track down her quarry. Thrust together, they’re sharing the same bed, the same tent, and working together every hour of the day.

As they draw closer to catching the killer, Jenna sees under Park’s scarred exterior to the man beneath. A man who tempts her in ways no one ever has before. A man who will do anything to keep her safe.

If they survive this hunt, then Jenna knows she’ll have the biggest challenge of all—convincing her scarred hero to take a chance on love.

Loyalty, Love and Healing

I loved it! Parker was a wounded warrior who just needed some one to jumpstart his feelings again and show him that it was okay to be a survivor. Jenna was perfect for him. And it always adds a little extra to the story when Vander and the guys show up!

Could very well be my favorite of the series

This could very well be my favorite of the series. Gripping from the first words, I was utterly drawn into this story. I've had a soft spot for Parker since he was first introduced and was waiting for the perfect woman to come along to pull him from the shadows. Jenna was just that- Vander always knows what's up, right? Jenna is one tough US Marshal. Tough enough (now I'm hearing the song in my head) to burrow under Parker's isolation fences. Both their pasts are no cake walks as we discover while they get to know each other's demons and passions, but those haunted pasts make them the perfect match for each other. Danger, action, and gripping suspense keep up the intensity in this fast-paced story as they journey towards a smile inducing happy ending. Then narrators were amazing at bringing the story to life from the pages.

Wonderful narration!

4.5 Stars

Jenna Sheridan is a US Marshall, tasked with getting Kyle Olson (a really bad criminal) back from Alaska to the lower 48. He escapes her team and is loose in AK, a place he can survive in indefinitely. Jenna knows she needs help to catch him, so she recruits a former ghost ops soldier, Parker Conroy, with the same skill set. Park served under the command of Vander Norcross, who is trying to bring life back into Park, after a life-altering failed mission. At first Park is unwilling to help Jenna. But he knows what Olson is capable of, and doesn’t feel good leaving Jenna to face him alone. So he relents, and the adventure begins…

Expect danger, adrenaline, and death. And expect Jenna and Park to fall in love, even if they both resist it to the best of their abilities. The ending is fun, and listeners get the added bonus of Vander and company taking part in this story. This is a fast-paced story focused on two protagonists who are flawed but strong and driven. They make a great team, and the trust they share is fun to read. The tension is steady throughout the story, and this one is hard to put down once you start listening. Enjoy!!

The narration is top-notch! I especially enjoy hearing Parker’s growly rumble at certain times, but both narrators do a wonderful job of bringing this story to life.
