About this listen

On the eve of her wedding, Sky Elizabeth, the earl of Fife's eldest daughter, learns of her betrothed's murderous plot against her. As she flees, Sky falls through a mysterious portal in time, landing at the feet of a twenty-first-century American knight.

Struan, the bastard son of the earl of Sutherland, escaped death through time's portal once. Recognizing what has befallen the frightened woman, he vows to protect her even while Sky, with a trace of fae blood in her veins, senses his resentment.

Despite their growing attraction, she's determined to find a way home to avert a clan war. Though he cannot deny his desire, he fears that helping her return to the past will surely lead to his demise. As the two work together, passion ignites and an unbreakable bond forms - but will it be enough to sustain them through the perils they'll face in the past? Can their love have a future?

Barbara, what an amazing story, a story about going into the past or future and finding love and new adventures. Luke Daniels is my favorite #1 narrator he makes me close my eyes and relive storytelling with his amazing talent thank you !!! .. Thank you for letting my imagination go wild and think that maybe the car next to be is someone from the 15th century...

The day before her wedding to the heir of the earl of Mar, Sky Elizabeth, eldest daughter of the earl of Fife, hears her betrothed and his mistress discussing his intention to wed her for her dowry of gold and land and then murder, leaving him free to enjoy her wealth without the encumbrance of a bride. As she flees to warn her family of the nefarious plot, Sky is swept away into the 21st century. She lands in the midst of a jousting tournament at a Renaissance festival. Struan, bastard son of the earl of Sutherland and a time traveler himself, sweeps her up and takes her to his family who shelter her and sort through her predicament. Was she swept through the centuries only so she could save herself, or does she have a duty to her clan to return and try to warn them of her betrothed's evil plans? Can she fight the growing attraction between herself and Struan? Should she even try? After all, her mother thwarted convention to make a love match with her father, and if she didn't marry Struan, would she just be bartered again to another evil lord who cared only for her lands and wealth? If she returns, is it even possible to change history or avert a clan war? Struan is torn between the security of the life he's built in the peaceful modern world, or the love of his life. But if he follows her into the past, will her father allow her to marry him anyway? Today, he is a successful businessman with a home, land and a bank account, but in the past, his bastardy makes him a reviled man with nothing to recommend him as husband material for a noble lady.

This installment of the Loch Moigh series has all the action and passion of the previous novels. This is the first time I have tried the audiobook format instead of eBooks. While I liked that I could continue to "read" while going about my day, I found that for this series, I prefer eBooks, as I found the different voices given to different characters somewhat distracting. But overall, I still really enjoyed the story and am looking forward to more of Longley's novels.

If you’ve listened and enjoyed the first books in this series you will be delighted to revisit some old friends in book 4. I enjoyed the story of Sky and Struan. Their romance, despite the challenges, was touching and very sweet. The author did a nice job showing the many difficulties and struggles while living in different centuries.

This book can stand alone but I don’t think it would be as enjoyable without the background of the other books. There are no cliffhangers but the story’s intertwine by their time travel experiences.

I thought the narrator did a really good job. I liked his voice. Some of the reviewers didn't... so please listen to the Audio Sample before purchasing.

Also, there is some Adult sexual content….. so for those who prefer clean romances you might want skip this one. ;-)

Like Revisiting Old Friends.
