As good as the Ferrari book by the same author
Another really good potted history of a great car-maker. In one hour you'll learn all the important bits about the creation of Mercedes Benz from its humble beginnings, through its flirtation with the Nazi government all the way through to the present day with the purchases of Chrysler and Mitsubishi en route. A fascinating read. Thoroughly recommend.

Such a fun gift for my dad
I got this as a gift for my dad, who is obsessed with Mercedez Benz. I thought this would be so fun for him to listen to… And boy was I right! He loved it. Unfortunately for me, it meant he couldn’t shut up about all the cool facts he learned hahaha. It was so nice to see him light up about all the little nuggets he picked up in the book. I particularly thought the details around the Daimler and Benz merger were super interesting. Even I learned a little bit about the history. It was a fun family experience, to talk about all the history behind Mercedez. Definitely recommend.

ANOTHER FASCINATING BOOK!
I had the pleasure of listening to J.P. Evans’ other book on the 1954 Gullwing, so I just had to give this one a listen as well!
The long history of Mercedes Benz is one replete with vision, persistence, and cutting-edge innovation, all related here in Evans’ engaging style and nicely presented by William Westendorf.
Intriguing details of pioneers Carl Benz and Gottlieb Daimler were fascinating, and served to flesh out the already romantic saga of Mercedes Benz in my mind’s eye. Emerging unscathed from their brief flirtation with Hitler’s Nazi Germany, they have gone on to establish themselves as one of the pre-eminent luxury car manufacturers in the world.
The book, while brief, is filled to overflowing with terrific information that even car aficionados like myself will find fresh.

An insightful journey!
This book provides an insightful journey through the iconic Mercedes Benz brand. In Chapter 2, "Building a Global Empire (1928 - 1998)", the historical narrative captivated me. The book delves into the era when Mercedes Benz established itself as a global powerhouse in the automotive industry. This resonated with me as my family has a fondness for classic cars, and the tales of Mercedes Benz's growth became a shared fascination. The chapter ignited discussions about the evolution of automotive design and innovation, making it an engaging experience that went beyond the audiobook. William Westendorf's narration added a layer of richness to the book.

Interesting story line
I love listening to stories of how founder got started, struggles within each industry, how they came up with their brand idea, and more. This audiobook kept me tuned in to listen all the way to the end. Very Enjoyable.
