About this listen

On a freezing February day, a stranger emerges from out of the gray to request a room at a local provincial inn. Who is this out-of-season traveler? More confounding is the thick mask of bandages obscuring his face. Why does he disguise himself in this manner and keep himself hidden away in his room?

Aroused by trepidation and curiosity, the local villagers bring it upon themselves to find the answers. What they discover is a man trapped in a terror of his own creation, and a chilling reflection of the unsolvable mysteries of their own souls.

In the tradition of Mary Shelleys Frankenstein comes another undisputed classic of science fiction and horror to stir the imagination and conscience.

Awesome story

Excellent reading of a frighteningly excellent story. Would definitely recommend. The reader is perfect for the subject matter. Will appeal to those not afraid of a varied and intelligent vocabulary.

Five out of Five Stars!

One of the literary world's most beloved classics, written by the father of science fiction H.G. Wells, The Invisible Man stands tall even today. Invisible Man, as a horror story, is still a chilling concept to think about. A man with a penchant for violent outbursts and no qualms about killing or hurting others being granted the ability to be invisible is one of the simplest, yet most horrific ideas to date.

This is a story that will outlive us all, and rightfully so. Written brilliantly and uniquely for it's time, The Invisible Man stands out in its genre even 100 years later. Author H.G. Wells remains one of the best writers of all time, with The Invisible Man as one of his best works. I am proud to have listened to this story, feeling like it's an important piece to add to my collection of read books.

It's not a story to be slept on, that's for sure. Do yourself a favor and come enjoy this classic science fiction/horror story that inspired that monster from the movies.

Rough start but good ending

This is a short book, but at the same time it seemed to drag. I narration was a little conservative and dull but was decent overall. The ending is what saved this book the most. The last sequences are worth the read.

Great narration

This audiobook has the perfect narrator. It’s as if he’s telling the story, not just reading it. Reminds me of my sister reading me scary stories. The narrator has just the right cadence in his voice.

I will note that the story itself is pretty fast paced, which I actually like a lot, but I did have to rewind a few times when I wasn’t fully paying attention.

Overall, this is really a great listen, and I highly recommend it!

Always wanted to read this

I was always curious about this classic. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed. I thought there would be more to the story. It was a good read, but I expected more.

My hopes were not for naught

Being a fan of both H.G. Wells and his books my expectations were high when it came to who was reading the book to me. I expected distinction between X character to be different from Y character and that's what I got. James Adams makes The Invisible man sounds just like I thought he would with multiple changes in his voice as he becomes more and more power hungry. As far as who I think this book, rather this narration is for I'd have to say for people who want to feel like they're in England with all the different characters. Good Luck, my fellow classic book lovers!
