New Self, New World challenges the primary story of what it means to be human, the random and materialistic lifestyle that author Philip Shepherd calls our "shattered reality". This reality encourages us to live in our heads, self-absorbed in our own anxieties. Drawing on diverse sources and inspiration, New Self, New World reveals that our state of head-consciousness falsely teaches us to see the body as something we possess and to try to take care of it without ever really learning how to inhabit it.

Great but...
I loved this book however the narrator talked too fast. I had to change the speed of play. This in not the type of book that you can go through fast. I really wish it was more mindfully presented. I will go back and listen again just to see what I missed. It has a lot of information; I wish I got the kindle version with it.

I thorough and illuminating treatment of the subject
Rabbi DovBer Pinson brings together every area of Jewish tradition to formulate a comprehensive understanding of Life and beyond. Besides being an amazing erudite, his ability to elucidate the complex is astounding. This masterwork is further enhanced by the clear reading of Shlomo Zacks who obviously understands the material. His Elizabethan English further grants the material a sense of gravitas.
